IU-Bloomington Grad, class of 1996.

That collection is un-freakin-real.

Got an autographed ball sent to me by Morandini back in 2004, as I worked with a woman he went to IU with and was very close with her family. As I'm also a Phillies fan, that ball has even more meaning to me.

Awesome collection. The title of the thread made me double take when I got on today. Do you collect basketball and football too?

Class of 2007 here, glad to see fellow Hoosiers on the board (avoid Ballerskrip, he's a boiler  )

As an aside, I do IU basketball - not to this extent, but I collect Auto's of Hoosiers in IU uni's on the card. If anyone can help out by all means let me know!

Jason, awesome collection. I know I have some cards you need of guys like Barry Jones, Wehner, Phil Dauphin and I might have an oddball of orie or morandini you need. The hard part is the cards are sorted in with other base cards which takes a lot of time to pull. Most of my stuff is in storage but I will try to make an effort to see if I can help you out.

Hopefully your post is going to inspire me to get my cards in order. I'm jealous because not only do you have scans of what you have, but you also have a want list that is accurate. That is huge for player collecting. I can count numerous times I've traded for a card that I thought I needed, only to find out once I get it that I already have it.

Thanks David, still appreciate the A&G trade we did a little bit ago. It is well worth it to take the time to get the lists together. It is nice because I can save it to google docs and look at it from anywhere. Also the photobucket app makes it easy to browse through pictures when at shows and such. I finally did it after buying a duplicate Klu and didn't ever want to do that again. I do have a couple of the base cards of Jones and Wehner (like the 87 Topps) in sets, so need to pull them out and scan, but shoot me a PM the next time you are heading out to your storage unit as I would love to see what you find.

Awesome story, always good to hear that someone I collect is a nice guy. A lot more grads and people from Indiana here than I would have expected.

Thanks, and no just go after the baseball guys. Do you have any scans of your IU collection as I would like to see it. I was there during the Randle El years and enjoyed watching him play so thought briefly about adding him, but decided to keep it focused to just baseball. Well also Spitz, but he is probably the most recognized IU athlete world wide, and I love A&G, so decided to add him as well.

Thanks everyone! Here are two cards I received in the mail today. I hope it is ok that I will make this my mail thread too, but like to give shout outs when I can and just show how the collection progresses.

Two new today. The Kluszewski must have been a box topper as it's pretty big.

Good Stuff man. I played at Purdue form 1998-2002. Great times.

One of my best friends I played with at Purdue is really tight with Vasili Spanos. Awesome stuff you have of his.

Great collection man, too bad it isn't purdue ;) ;) ;)

You really want to see the world's best Archi Cianfrocco collection? Ha ha! I know, I know... there have others since. But when I was at Purdue, he was about the only guy that had ever made it...

You left off one little known pinch runner/outfielder that played for the IU baseball team...

Wow very cool that you played. What was your record vs. IU? There is a collector of Greek players and he has an awesome collection of Spanos.

Mark, wow I had no idea he was a three sport athlete. I wonder how many other people can say that? In researching Randle El I also found out that Gibran Hamdan (drafted 7th rd to the Redskins in 2003 and played a little) was also on the baseball team.

Here are a couple of new pickups, both first cards for me of the player.

Sick! I collect a few colleges myself (Gopher Baseball, MN-Duluth Hockey, SMSU-Everything, Michigan Football) so these threads are always fun to see.

Thanks! I think the thing that I like most about collecting the college players is that it doesn't matter what team they play for, or how many times they are traded or released, they are forever a part of that fraternity. Anyway I have a ton of scans to put up. My hard drive crashed on a four month old computer, so it has made it very difficult to stay on top of this.

Here are the memorabilia pictures that I have put on page 1.

I actually drooled over the Mickey Morandini cards. I know, sounds crazy. Mickey was my favorite player as a kid. Met him a couple times. His All-Star selection was one of the highlights of my youth.
