I've always called him "The AL hitting machine". But after seeing him mash some more this season, I got to wonder if Paul Konerko is going to end up in Cooperstown...
He's 35, but IF the DH sticks around, he could easily play 5 more years. And if you look at his numbers, he'd probably reach some HOF-type numbers and plateaus.
So far: .281, 1930 Hits, 378 HRs, 1202 RBIs, .357 OBP, .500 SLG, .856 OPS. 2005 ALCS MVP
and 9 SBs. :lol:
It looks like 500 HRs, 2500 hits and 1500 RBIs are definitely possible, if not probable. I'd have to think those levels would put him in Cooperstown. Also, I've never heard his name in the steroid or PED whispers.
