Well, considering the three players "blocking him" suck. I'd say yes.

Francisco Cervelli - .227 - 1 HR - 15 RBI
Russell Martin - .225 - 10 HR - 40 RBI
Jorge Posada - .236 - 9 HR - 30 RBI


Posada, Martin, and Cervelli have teamed up to hit 8 HR since May 1st,

I would say Montero could replace any of those three. He obviously wont be the starting catcher, but.....

It says in multiple places in the very near future. Could be a day, a week, or a month. All depends on whqt the writers feels is near future.
