Nice play by Rollins faking out Matsui, though it hasn't got much coverage. Now if Jeter would have made the same play, the media would be analyzing it to death and having multiple verbal orgasms.

Kind of funny to see Yankee fans fleeing the stadium before the game was over.

If that was Jeter or Arod ESPN would still be talking about it right now.

Like I said...Up and down, Philly is a dangerous team. Reporters talk about how the Yankees have no holes in their lineup, this and that...what about Philly? Anyone of those guys can win the game for you. Sure I'd rather have Utley or Howard up in a crucial moment, but the other 7 guys are fully capable as well. It will be very interesting to see what happens with Pedro tonight and which version of A.J. decides to show up.

See a pattern? Phillies in 5.

That has to be the most idiotic post I've read.

You're right.

It might be wishful thinking, but...

Phillies fans need to chill with a sweep. That will not happen and winning in 5 won't happen. You watched Lee be as dominant as any pitcher has been against the Yankees all season. Do you really think you will shut down the Yankees for another 3 games with Pedro, Hamels and Blanton on the mound? I was already counting a loss for game 1.

My prediction was Yankees in 6 and I will stand ny that.

You may very well be right but the phillies can score with the yankees and they wont face any pitcher quite as dominant as Sabathia. Also, if thats the best the yankees bullpen offers, there will be alot of runs scored. After Sabathia, the yankees are about as hittable as the philles are.

What's the plan for Lee? Will he pitch game 4? If he pitches game 5 is he pretty much done for the series?

I don't see how Girardi doesn't pitch CC again in 4 and 7.

I really didn't understand bringing in Bruney in the 9th yesterday. I would have figured Joba would have come in or even Aceves. Hughes had a rough night and he wasn't at his best, I would like to see Girardi use Robertson in more high pressure situations.

You are also forgetting Mariano. Yesterday is probably the worst you will see the Yankees bullpen pitch.

I think lee comes back for game 5. Bringing back Sabathia on short rest isnt a real advantage.

I would think it is, given that he has pitched pretty well on short rest. They would have him on full rest for game 7, so it wouldn't be too bad.

If Lee/Sabathia pitch game 5 wouldn't they be done for the series?

You're the man Jeff

Now then, what did Rollins do?[/quote:zrdgr6l1]

Rollins really did nothing besides scoring twice, stealing a base, and turning a crucial double play with the lead off man on, nobody out, and the score only 2-0.

It all depends on what Pedro and HAmels do. If we're able to go out to a 3-0 lead, let Blanton/Happ get game 4 and save Lee on normal rest for 5. If we wind up losing the next two, we may need Lee for 4 and 7...

Any predictions are premature. Just as all of the pre-Series talk about the teams being equal except for the Yankees' vaunted superior bullpen.

Whaaaaaaaaaatever. Let's play the games!
