I'm sure I could post tomorrow and get some good discussion points, but I wanna do it now, as we're off to Menard's & Target in Virginia (an hour away). LMK what you think and what improvements need to be made. I think 2014 will be a year for everyone to showoff and enjoy the fruits of their labor and their collection.

Close enough, plus I've never seen # 1/2

Only pack pulled, not by me, Logoman. Have seen one other one and that went for about the same as I got this

insane collection; make a picasa album and put them all in there-- would be easier viewing!

This has to be in the top 10 best JJ collections I've ever seen... ;)

That's freaking amazing!

Nice collection Dave. What about purchasing a scanner? I think ALL cards look best scanned and all the same size when posting something like this. I know they aren't cheap but they aren't totally expesive either.

Nice job!

I've got a scanner. It's one thing I hope on getting to do, at some point. Now, with the house though, seems like there is always something else that needs to be done or organized and then toss in work & watching Naomi and rescanning cards gets shuffled to the bottom of the 'to do' list.

I agree with the scanner comment. It will take you awhile, but it's worth it.
Also I recommend creating a site with comprehensive breakdowns of each year or category.
Here is how I have a section of my site organized: http://www.royoswalt44.com/base-inserts-parallels.html.
Adding new cards is a breeze also.
If I wanted to add a new card to any year I just go
2006 awesome Josh Johnson 1/1

It will automatically update the total for that year, the year completion %, and the overall total and overall completion %.
Also, if you wanted to add the cards you didn't own, it's set up to subtract those from the total.
For example:
1. owned card
2. owned card
3. don't have this one***
4. owned card
It would spit out: Personal recognized completion: 3/4 or 75%
If you wanted to have a gallery pop up display that's easy as well.
So check out my site if you are interested. I could help you create a personal site if you wanted.

Absolutely amazing stuff. Let me be another one to pile on about the scanner. I know it is tough, but what if you just committed to scanning a few cards per day? That way you could get started and not feel so overwhelmed by it.

I plan on doing the scanning. When though, I'm not sure. We're STILL in the process of unboxing & unpacking and just trying to get everything situated. Card scanning does take a bit of a back seat to that ;)

You should try to collect stubs. I plan on doing this with Perk.

I've got 3, Taylor. Tough to locate though, and I wanna get the team issued tickets, not some knock off. Those seem to be nearly impossible to find :\

I hear you. I have a couple of some of my guys, but they are really hard to track down.

How is the game used side of your collection doing? Didn't you just get a signed bat in not too long ago?

I've got a minor league bat, the pair of cleats and then the GU (3/26/12, so probably Spring Training) auto'd cracked bat. I'd love to find a jersey or pants, but would die if I could get a GU glove. That'd be insane.

A game used jersey would look nice in that AMAZING collection!

I was outbid, a few years back, for a '09 All-Star Game Workout jersey. If I would've won it, it would've cost me nearly $400 to get it. I just can't justify dropping $400 on a game worn jersey.
