Should be sent back down to the minors. His stuff is a fraction of what it once was. His is killing this team and that spot should go to someone who wants it.

I agree that he looks awful, but so does the rest of their bullpen. I believe if their bullpen was stronger he would be sent down.

The whole Joba thing makes me laugh. The Yankees fans on this board were sooooooo sure he'd turn into a star.

I guess that's the side-effect of being able to buy the pitching you need. You rarely have to develop one.....

...and the Brewers has churned out quality MLB pitching. They should have paid CC and not have gave up the farm for him and not sign him. ::facepalm::

agreed 100% let the man pitch. all this crap these days about only letting a pitcher throw 80 pitches then pull him or only letting a starter go 5 or 6 innings to be eligible for the win is crap. the whole art of pitching is a shell of what it once was. take out the "middle reliever" or set-up man. let the starters go 8 innings then bring in a closer. starters need to pitch 100-120 pitches when they play. there are far too many injuries to pitchers today because of all this babying that happens to them. let them pitch the way they used to and there will be far fewer injuries and problems and we can forget about:joba rules" and all the other rules for good. ***steps off soap box***

Speaking of the Indians, didn't they get rid of CC and Lee the year after each won a Cy Young? I can't remember if it went like that.

The Mets are doing the same thing to Mejia. Teams are clueless in handling their pitching prospects. Texas will ruin Feliz by keeping him their closer even though he's excellent but he can also be a #1.

Yep. Sabathia was going to want $20M, and Lee's trade value was never going to be higher. The jury's still out on how those trades pan out. But it's safe to say there's no way they could have afforded either along with the 3 other $10M+ guys.

Good thing they let all that talent go now they have the leagues worst home attendance. Avg a little over 15000 fans a game. Probably will drop as they fall farther behind.

Do you mean just like they screwed up Phil Hughes? It looks like that is working, so give it some time.

That doesn't mean they aren't making money. Does no good to only have POTENTIAL sell out crowds here and there only just fork the money over to your big pitchers/players when you CANT afford it.

Now they aren't paying those salaries and whatever attendance they DO get I'm sure is helping them out.

Give the Indians a little bit of credit. They groomed CC and they never gave up on Cliff Lee when he seemed to have lost it completely.

The Cubs are also screwing Andrew Cashner by bringing him up to pitch from the pen. This guy could of been a star his numbers this year are unbelievable an he didnt miss a step bein brought up to AAA an won player of the week an the next week they slap him to the pen so they can bring him up to the bigs. The cubs are not going anywhere this year an are just gonna ruin this kid.

While putting a pitcher in the Pen has not worked out for Joba, one could argue that it was the yanking around that was the issue, not simply moving him into the pen. People forget that Johan Santana began his MLB career in the pen. That worked out ok.
