I guess that's the side-effect of being able to buy the pitching you need. You rarely have to develop one.....

Yep. Sabathia was going to want $20M, and Lee's trade value was never going to be higher. The jury's still out on how those trades pan out. But it's safe to say there's no way they could have afforded either along with the 3 other $10M+ guys.

Good thing they let all that talent go now they have the leagues worst home attendance. Avg a little over 15000 fans a game. Probably will drop as they fall farther behind.
The Mets are doing the same thing to Mejia. Teams are clueless in handling their pitching prospects. Texas will ruin Feliz by keeping him their closer even though he's excellent but he can also be a #1.
