Because the haters sure love to kick dirt. Even if in the end they look completely stupid.

The fact that this got 2 pages of discussion is exactly why it made the news.

He was talking to his family and Mo was doing an interview. Family tumps stupid interview.

Where did this rule get invented? Family definately doesn't trump an interview in that situation....nor would it at my place of employment. They were in the freaking dugout for heavens-sake! Tell Joba to take his family into an office somewhere if they need to talk that badly....

Its no rule, its called common courtesy. And yes family trumps a simple last minute interview. The only requirement many athletes in general have is to attend press conferences not off the cuff interviews.

Either way that is not the point, the point is that Mo was rude with his comment. He could have been polite about it.

I completely disagree here Joba is known for being the loudest of the group. It has irritated many of the vets before. Mo is the most respected member of that dugout. There is a pecking order and Joba is at the bottom. Mo didnt tell him to shut his trap he said Shushh. Big deal joba has to deal with it.

Huh? It's called Daddy's at work and unless it's important there are deadlines that have to be met and such. And it does matter. Had this happened in another place in the park but the dugout? What the hell was Joba doing in there with his family anyhow? Seriously, if I were a player and brought my kids to the park and saw an interview happening in the dugout I would tell my kids, "Ok, we have to be quiet for a second."

Mo had every right to shush him. And I'm generally a Yankee hater!

FWIW, the second news report stated that Mo asked him the "sauve" with a downward hand motion and not "SHUSH". Also if you read that article Giant Toad II still has a chip on him shoulder.
