and gets pulled out of the batters box for pinch hitter Andre Ethier when the Padres decide to make a pitching change.

Ethier grounds into a first-pitch double play to end the inning.

I know Torre thought he 'had' to make the move for Ethier to hit, but of all the guys to call back into the dugout, Lindsey is the last one anyone wants to see summoned back. That was hard to watch.

hopefully Lindsey gets to start a game (maybe two) in Houston in front of his family to make up for his MLB debut with no plate appearance.

cool video on MLB.com (probably dodgers section) including footage of Ned Coletti making the call to him about coming to the big leagues!

Any respect I had for Torre is now gone.
As a lifelong Dodgers fan, I thought he might bring a new tradition to the team. If the tradition is going to be screwing over players, I'd rather have Jim Tracy back.

I'm really happy to see that Ethier hit into a double play because now you know Torre must feel like a complete dbag for taking the bat out of Lindsey's hands when he's standing in the box for what would have been his first career AB.
