Ok, so the title is hyperbole laced to get views and comments.

Minus Kershaw, he's been the best pitcher in the NL for the past 4 years while pitching inside a breadbox. If Kershaw gets the MVP, then why not give Johnny Beisbol the Cy?

Nobody wants to hear about my fantasy team, BUT, thanks in large part to Cueto I came into today 1 point behind. His gem today may actually doom me as I also have Wainwright (pulled from start after Reds win), Peralta (same), and Holliday (same). Helluva season though

If you're talking about it all in good fun, then I say sure...why not give Cueto the CY and give Kershaw the MVP. They are both worthy of recognition for outstanding seasons. However, if you are talking reality...as in, the voters SHOULD give them each an award because they are both deserving of recognition, then I don't agree with that one bit. That would be like giving the Gold Glove to Chris Carter for coming in 2nd place for the AL HR title. They are 2 totally different awards. The CY is best pitcher and the MVP is, well...MVP. Kershaw deserves the CY this year for putting up one of the best seasons in decades (just imagine if he hadn't missed any starts earlier in the year!), and if the voters deserve he was MVP, too, then he deserves that equally distinguishable award.

Kershaw gets Cy Young and Cueto comes in 2nd. I was really happy to see Cueto get his 20th win Sunday. Pretty cool that he got the game winning RBI too.

Just bad luck of playing in Wrong league...

I'd rather he play in the NL than the junior circuit over in the AL.

He'd been a 25+ game winner if the Reds offense had given him the run support he needed. Plus he had 10+ quality starts, had run support and the middle relief let the games go (ie: JJ Hoover, Jonathan Broxton). Chapman blew at least 2-3 saves for Cueto as well.

Does he deserve the CY Young award? Yes, but Kershaw has pitched so well that at least we get to watch and enjoy a pitching duel between the two.

It won't happen...but the college FB awards is what got me thinking about it.

Several times the Davey O'Brian (best QB) has went to a different QB than the Heisman (best player).

Because he's not worthy of it.
