once again, they have also had a top 8 defense 11 of of the last 15 years. I can name at least
20 teams that would take that including the Eagles and Falcons! Now it looks like we have a franchise Qb not
to mention two solid rookie WR's and one rookie RB. I bet there wasn't two guys on here besides me who picked
the bucs for another 3 win season! We are getting it done...don't blame us cause the NFC West sucks.

Kevin
I think the Eagles would be happier winning their division already with their setup than having Freeman and in a must win to go on situation.

So how many divison titles would Philly trade in for one super bowl ring? All of them? In Philly they raise divison title
banners, in Tampa they raise a championship banner.

Kevin
All ONE of them.

The bucs started in 1976, they won their first ring 26 years later. The Steelers went from 79-2005 without a ring! Why
don't you want until the bucs have been around forever before you start making those comparisions!

and as far as MVP talk, my beef wasn't with Brady, it was with Vick, if you have Vick in the converstation you must
have Freeman in their too.

Kevin
I never compared the Bucs to the Steelers or any other team. I just find it funny that you said "in Tampa they raise a championship banner", you make it sound like they do it on a regular basis.

There are plenty of teams out there that don't raise championship banners and almost all of those teams are older
than the bucs are.

As far as Vick, check the stats, Freeman's are better, plus he doesn't kill dogs.

Vick played in three less games than Josh.

Plus, he has 7 rushing touchdowns.

Freeman played a beatup Seattle team today.. They have been hurt all year and have players from their practice squad starting.. If you are looking at Freeman's stats because of what he did today.. then you are really reaching for something that isn't there..

He has a good future, but right now, Brady has been the most dominant QB so far..

Agreed, he's talented and has a bright future but not the league's MVP.

Agreed as well. There is some serious potential with Freeman. I had never seen him play until yesterday and wow, he is definately a player.

MVP though? Not even in the running. He is playing like a 1st round draft pick should play. Above average with flashes of potential greatness.

Kevin, please shut up. You are making the rest of us Bucs fans look stupid. I myself am shocked at how the Bucs have played, regardless of who they have beaten/haven't beaten. I believe they have stared 10 rookies this year and pretty much all of their skill position players are first or second year guys. I think if the NFL had a most improved player award, Freeman would certinaly be in the descusion. I do think he has vaulted himself into a top 10 QB this year but I think its a bit early for MVP talk, although I wouldn't be totally shocked if he stole a vote or two.

Considering that when you looked at Freeman he was pretty much a four-year project, the Bucs have to be insanely happy. Throw in Mike Williams keeping his crap together and Benn starting to come around and you've got a nice little core. I'm very high on Blount as an undrafted rookie, but he needs a compliment.

The Bucs have taken some HUGE gambles on players developing or staying out of trouble and they've all paid off. This year's draft will be the difference between a team that competes and a team that remains mediocre.

most improved?? What? He played like part of a season last year, again read the entire thread, Freeman has
stats comparable to Vick, if anyone here thinks that Vick should NOT be in discussion then fine, but you can't
talk about Vick being an MVP without mentioning a guy with only 1 year experience with similar numbers. If
Freeman played for the Eagles he would be in the discussion, but he plays for the bucs so no one sees him.

Lets recap for those just here to bash me and arn't reading the entire argument.

1) I don't see anyone taking the MVP trophy away from Brady
2) If Vick is in the discussion, then Freeman HAS to be also

Thanks
Kevin

you are a retard. Vick has better comp %, a significantly higher rating, more TDs, and almost the same number of yards (include rushing) in 4 fewer games

How many years do you think Vick has left?

Anyone can have their career short for any number of reasons and Freeman isn't exempt from that.

Other than a VERY select few out there, I would imagine 93 out of 100 fans surveyed would rather have Michael Vick. 3 of the remaining 10 would want Freeman. The other 4 would ask who Josh Freeman is.

I only added the Brady post because, despite reading the title of your post (JOSH FREEMAN FOR MVP), and your initial premise, I thought I'd read the entire argument and didn't see anything about Brady actually being a front-runner in your eyes.

Its too bad the Bucs don't play the Seahawks more often, 5 TD's feels pretty good.

what glue are you sniffing? Freeman has 400+ more yards and more td's. Time for a new newspaper.

Was that supposed to sting or something? It was a meaningless game for the Seahawks.

I haven't once pounded my chest about my team this year. We are a young, beat up team that wasn't supposed to do anything this year. Come Sunday, if we lose we are not going to the playoffs. Tonight, the fate of the Bucs could be sealed. Smack talk all you want but at the end of the year, you will find a Bucs team, much improved, watching the playoffs on TV. You will likely find a Seahawks team sitting at home watching the playoffs on TV too, unless they can find a way to compete against the Rams.

Even if the Seahawks win, there isn't a very good chance that they will not even win a game in the playoffs. However, when I look at the Bucs losses (mainly against playoff teams) and pretend the Bucs make it to the playoffs, I don't see them faring much better in the playoffs.

I tip my hat to the Bucs as they have had a remarkable turnaround...but don't get ahead of yourself. You beat the teams you should have beaten (for the most part...Detriot) all you lost the games against teams that were decent to good. That is where the term AVERAGE comes from.
