I just briefly talked to alifaxwa2 about this concept.

If you guys want to proceed by all means feel free to do so and if you need any help from the board, feel free to ask.

This isn't something that I can get directly involved in because it's probably a one and done, or at best a 2 a year thing. Things like the BGS sub are monthly and insanely valuable to the FCB community.

That said though, I would be more than glad to help out were I can.

Here is the pricing that we will have by going through itsinthegrade.
I will still be running it and recieving the items. I will be shipping everything him and he will hand-deliver to JSA. I will post additional details this weekend. Also, this will likely move the submission to late May/early June as the cards going to him resolves the issue I had that cause us to wait until July.

$12 for items less than 3.5x5.25 to be authenticated and slabbed.
$17 for items less than 3.5x5.25 to be authenticated, graded and slabbed.
$23 for any item bigger than 3.5x5.25 and smaller than 8.5x11x0.25 for authentication and slabbing.
$26 for any item bigger than 3.5x5.25 and smaller than 8.5x11x0.25 for authentication and slabbing.

$500 max value per item.

I will keep a running count here (as of 28Apr10 705pm eastern):
Alifaxwa2 - TBD
thehamiltonian - 5-10 items
sdsportsfan1214 - 10-15 items
jbhofmann - 2 items
George K - 6 items
pujolsthomefan33 - 2-5 items
jeff550 - 2-5 items
wheeler281 - 5 items
cartersprings - 2 items
Musial Collector - 20 items
Mark McGwire Museum - 2 items
Fandruw25 - 1 item
autocut - 3 items
Fandruw25 - 1 item
martinffcollector - 5 items
TOTAL SO FAR - 66 items

Assuming this pricing structure (per item; cards, photos, ICs, other flats)), Lets start a preliminary (non-binding) count on quantities for a submission in JULY!
50 cards - $16 for auth/slab only, $26 for auth/slab/grade
200 cards - $12 for auth/slab only, $20 for auth/slab/grade

There may be an intermediate pricing if we can get to 100-125 cards. They wanted a quantity before they gave me more information. Additionally, value is limited to less than $150.
There is an $8 extra fee for the oversized slabs (for any item greater than 3x5)

I will keep a running count here:
Alifaxwa2 - TBD cards

So a 3x5 would cost an additional 8.00?

Any possibility of getting them to go to $10 if we can get a yearly commitment of say 1000 submissions? Also, any idea of what the $ would be for items over $150 in value?

I would imagine we could get down to $10 per with 1000. I will ask once I get a better idea if thats even a chance.
I need to get some clarification from them on how they determine the value.

Are you looking for a cookie? If not, then why didn't you mention it, or try to help submit items for people before now?

I can get $12 no matter how many cards.

Sean,

He was one of the people I was talking to and was very helpful. Before we got today's news he was willing to let us run a group sub through him as long as someone was the main sender and recipient to/from his address.

He could definitely be of assistance.

If we're at the $12/$20 level I'll do about 10.

If not, I want to sub with itsinthegrade. ;)

[edited - sorry learned how to read]

Thanks for all the work you're doing. I hope we can get this to happen.
