Re: Was this a steal for me? TOMMY HANSON ORANGE 9.5?

Last 2 sold for $356 then $336.... so no... I don't think you got a steal.

As a matter of fact, if you look in completed listings there's one with a thumbnail pic that looks an awful lot like the one you just bought. I think your seller just crapped it smaller. The full size pic in the first auction isn't available to know for sure, but it looks like the same card (angle, blurriness, etc)

Why would you buy Tommy Hanson now?

You missed the boat, let it sail away..

Looks to me like you won that at auction... which is up to the minute market value.

If he comes up and has a dominant start or 2, that card will definitely go up..

Hmm... would you rather have a Stanton gold auto or a hanson chrome orange?

Ahh.. for some reason now the first one's pics are showing up now. Stupid eBay.

That's good news, though... not a stolen scan.

*thumbs up*

However.. very much NOT a steal.

*thumbs down*

Sold just a few days ago at $10 more. I don't think not having orange in the title hurt it. As someone has said before... you paid the going market rate at the time. You asked if it was a steal... it is NOT a steal. Your question has been answered. Check completed auctions before consulting.

That is IF he has a dominate start or two. I had a sick Hanson stash before he skyrocketed last year, and I was picking up oranges for $45.

There are so many better investments out there for that amount of cash.

I just don't see that card going up at all, simply because he has max'd out on his hype.

Just my opinion.

Dont get me wrong, I agree completely with you. I would not be buying high end Hanson right now, but I was simply saying there is definitely still room for that card to grow.

yes there is room, but the room is limited. Think of what you can get with about $350.

He is a pitcher. If he comes up to the Braves and gets shelled in his first start or two, his stuff will plummet.

Re: Was this a steal for me? TOMMY HANSON ORANGE 9.5?

so 2-3 more dominant starts and he will be back up where he was with room to grow and a call up to the majors with good starts with even more room the grow

Terrible, terrible investment. No way is it a steal and, ROI wise, there are so so so many better prospects than highend Hanson, regardless of how high of an expectation you have of him.

No no. You see.. his big growth has already happened.

Already.. as in... you've missed the boat. What everyone is trying to tell you is that your margin of return is pretty minimal right now. If he DOES happen to get a call up AND has a FEW (i.e. not 1) dominant starts, then you MAY see a $50 - $100 profit on that card.

You'd be looking at sitting on that card for a few months, maybe. Heck, maybe you'll luck out, and he'll come up and throw a no hitter! Odds of that happening? Slim.... but it could happen!
