Kovalchuk's contract has been VOIDED

the arbitrator ruled in favor of the NHL and Kovalchuk's contract with the Devils is now void. Kovalchuk will become a UFA again.

I'm guessing he'll still sign with NJ, they'll figure out a way to make it work.

On that though, it appears the NHL is looking into other long-term deals (Savard, Luongo). I'm guessing nothing can be done about those right now, but it sure would say something for future deals like those:

I think he will stay in NJ as well.

the NHL is also looking into the contracts of Hossa and Pronger.
