Tennessee's Lane Kiffin has agreed in principle to become the next head coach at Southern California, sources close to the situation told ESPN.com's Chris Low on Tuesday.
Kiffin would replace Pete Carroll, who jumped to the NFL as coach of the Seattle Seahawks.
Kiffin, the former Oakland Raiders coach, led the Volunteers for only one season.
According to the sources, Kiffin will bring his father and defensive coordinator, Monte Kiffin, and assistant head coach and recruiting coordinator Ed Orgeron to Southern Cal with him, and wide receivers coach Kippy Brown will be named interim head coach at Tennessee.
Whoa i thought for sure he would stay at Tennessee

If I am Tennessee, I let USF sign someone 1st just so the Vols AD is not getting into a bidding war with himself. USF cant pay a coach what the Vols can offer but a agent can spin it so it looks like USF is willing to spend. Then I go interview Gary Patterson of TCU, Kyle Whittingham at Utah, Skip Holtz of East Carolina, Al Golden at Temple and finally Randy Edsal at UConn. If these people laugh at me, I go get Terry Bowden from North Alabama.

Did Tennessee like Kiffin or not? I've seen posts/threads stating they loved him and hated him? One thing for sure, imagine all of those stud USC LB's in a Monte Kiffin system. Damn>

Carroll leaving actually is going to end up being good for USC. They are (coaching wise) stacked up, with chow back and older Kifflin handling the D......

Even more evidence of Kiffin being a ******. Think about all those kids he recruited at UT only to bail on them at the drop of a hat. If I were a kid being recruited by him I don't believe I could trust him. I guess Al Davis was right after all :lol:
