I was wondering if daddy would leave with him or not.

According to the reports I read his whole coaching staff is coming with him.
Not the OC i got a text from espn saying there is a deal being finalized to bring Norm Chow back as the USC OC

Damn talk about a stacked OC and DC coaching staff.

And a damn fine recruiter.

Carroll leaving actually is going to end up being good for USC. They are (coaching wise) stacked up, with chow back and older Kifflin handling the D......

Now.....let's see those sanctions handed down

I agree, USC could actually be better.

I wonder if Air Force's Calhoun would bring the triple option to the SEC. Paul Johnson said the week he took over the Yellow Jackets that the reason why it works in the military schools is because they are in better condition then your typical football player. A reporter said well how are you going to handle that. He replied: "We are going to run more ".

If Saban jumps ship, Paul Johnson is my #1 choice to replace him.

Harbaugh would be my #1

But hey, I wanted Paul Johnson to replace Shula before I knew Saban was possible.

USF is looking at the wrong Bowden- Tommy. Daddy Bowden is trying to get his sons jobs. Tommy is a good recruiter but not a X's and O's type coach while his brother Terry doesn't enjoy recruiting but does a lot with nothing..... USF has to look at like this: Either steal recruits from Florida State, Miami, and UCF and underachieve or have a Top 30 recruiting class that goes 8-4 every year with always losing a game they should have won.

Vol recruits along with current Vols players are twitting they will de-commit or transfer if Calhoun is hired.

Wow. This Vols class is getting shredded. You got remember that three of these players committed on TV last Saturday:

•Gainesville junior linebacker A.J. Johnson also has decommitted to the Vols. He said Clemson has pursued him the most vigorously since he committed to UT back in mid-October. He’s also considering Alabama, LSU and Miami. He said he has not heard much from Georgia Tech or Georgia since he pledged to the Vols.

•AJC Super 11 wide receiver Markeith Ambles of McDonough has not decided what he’s going to do.

•James’s good friend, Corey Miller of Duncan, S.C., has chosen to stay. “I’m 100 percent Vols,” Miller told PalmettoSports.com. “I’m going to class [Wednesday]. I love Knoxville. I love this place, and this is where I’m going to be. [Lane Kiffin's departure] was a letdown, but we’ve got to stick together as a team and pull through it.” He was one of the players visited by the Vol hoes.

•Not so for Miller’s high-profile teammate Brandon Willis. Both players were at the center of the “hostess-gate controversy” that prompted an NCAA inquiry. Willis was to drive with his father to Knoxville Tuesday night to begin classes. Instead he was riding with his father Wednesday to Chapel Hill, N.C., to enroll at North Carolina. And both Willis and his dad were peeved that Kiffin tried to get them to follow them to Southern Cal.

•Athlete Delvin Jones of Miami has also turned his back on the Vols. “Heck no I am not committed [to Tennessee],” he told Rivals.com. “I am opening things back up. Sure I will see what happens at Tennessee but right now they don’t have a coaching staff.”

Cmon Saban steal them all.....

I've read a ton of writers calling him a "weasel" and I can't argue with that. He even managed to make Crazy Al look smart in retrospect. Yikes!

Personally, I think Patterson would be a good fit, but he just got a nice extension and may not be that excited about getting a "big school" job just yet anyway.

Why? No one cares when schools fire coaches after one year. Why should a coach be chastised for leaving after one year, especially for his "dream job?" I understand about the recruits and everything but it's a 2 way street.

Two different things:

A team usually fires a coach for not doing his job well.

A college coach usually leaves the school he is at for another school for more money. This is also the guy 4 weeks later that tells his top junior players not to leave the school for the NFL unless they are a 1st round pick.

Coaches like Nick Saban, Bobby Petrino, and Urban Meyer have to have complete control in order to make things work and most NFL teams do not like this. Most NFL teams have to have the President, a GM, the owner, and the coach to all agree on things and that not going to always happen. The main resaon Saban left the Dolphins is because he was overruled on signing Brees and the Dolphin trainers informed the owner and GM that Culpepper was more game ready then Brees was......

It has more to do with the situation as a whole. With Lane Kiffin came a lot of heat. A ton of fans, players, boosters, and other people affiliated to the football program stood up for this guy. They defended him after he did moronic thing after moronic thing, and now he has turned his back on a large insitution that was prepared to embrace him.

Would you feel the same way if they fired him?

It depends on reasons for the firing. If a coach was ineffective then he should get fired. If a coach slaps a player, then he should get fired.

I disapprove of programs firing head coaches who have done the program good, but did not live up to expectations because they were unrealistic ones for the school to set in the first place.

I know where you are going with this. The next question is to ask me if I would leave my job for a better one. The answer to that question is yes. However I didn't convince 2 recruiting classes of high school seniors and their parents to come to a school on the basis of me being there.

I didn't stand up in front of hundreds of thousands of fans and talk about singing rocky top all night long. I didn't pretend to be interested in something that my heart obviously wasn't in. I didn't put on a show to deceive a bunch of high school kids.

That is all Lane Kiffin's deal.
