When players participate in our products, we make a small number of cards for the players personal use. We stamp these "Player Edition"... On this years baseball draft sets, we made approximately 50-60 of every player... The player got 25-35 and the remainder are being made available to collectors exclusively through Leaf Trading Cards' eBay store ..... seller ID: leaftradingcards....

THESE GO ON SALE 1/4/2012 AT 7 PM CST....

Cards will be priced very inexpensively and all players will be available via Buy-It-Now, except Ichiro Suzuki who will be sold via auction format. ALL AVAILABLE CARDS WILL BE LISTED AT ONCE AND IT WILL BE FIRST COME FIRST SERVED..

We are not offering these as "investment" or "rare variation" cards, however we thought it might be interesting to give collectors a chance to own the same version of the cards the players get at very reasonable prices... BG

Nice. I know Topps does this with heritage cards. Give old timers that sign player issue cards. Seen a few sell for some nice coin.

Didn't this occur with Razor in 2009?

Those were signed cards (which were premium to previously released) which competed with the hits from packs...

These are essentially base cards (packs had no base cards)....They will be priced VERY inexpensively for "collectors" ... There will be approximately 25 of most cards available... BG

p.s.- Eric, why you always stirring up trouble? I outta..... You know I love ya pal!

Its better than the player keeping cards that were supposed to be signed and having them sign and give away later.... Thats for sure.... BG

Actually, you make a good point.... Maybe we will list them auction style starting at .99 eah that way one guy doesnt hit the BIN for all 25 of a player....
Thanks Eric!!!!

Will these be available any way other than ebay? I do not use ebay, but I am interested in a copy of the Jeremy Moore.

Being the maker of "family guy" cards, you must be familiar with "bird is the word" episode.

Right before brian asks peter about something in the paper, stewie screams "BRIAN DON'T"..

if stewie reads this board, he would say the same to you about these cards as "authentic signature" is printed on the front

LOL, I know that episode....
These cards are foil stamped to avoid any chance of fraud...

I must be dense and missing the point of this sale. Why would one want limited edition personal cards for the player that never was in their possession? I would be more apt to buy it if the player decided they wanted to sell part of their personal stash on ebay rather than buy what seems more like production run leftovers.

Rarity seems to be the selling point to me, that will lead player collectors to clamor for them.

BG - Are there any color variations or are they all the base green?

These are just base versions....

I agree that player owned cards would be even more valuable, but the players would most probably not sell them and they would be relics rarely if not never seen.
We wanted to offer an affordable opportunity for collectors to own an unsigned Metal or Valiant card of their favorite player from those sets.
These are deisgned to have a low buy-in for collectors of these players.

Did the players get any color variants? If so, I will be contacting my two guys in the set.

Could you please list them with the team name in the title or at least in the description so the team collectors can find all of the players, without having to resort to the checklist?
