Don't know why people are bashing the cut autos. As BG mentioned, these just add value to the product. The're just a bonus. The real value or lack of, is in the slabbed buyback card.

I've always thought of a "cut signature" as a signature cut from some, for lack of better terminology, "piece of history", such as a cancelled check, a letter, a jersey, or some other document. At least that's how it was back in the good old days when cut sigs were something special.

How is that fundamentally different from any sticker product that gets put out?

I don't recall seeing any sticker auto products that just had a sticker stuck to a plain card with nothing else happening. Even those retina-burning Triple Threads sticker autos give you a dime-sized picture of the player in question, and maybe a jersey swatch if you're lucky. That's why I was thinking at the very least have these guys sign a jersey, even a replica one would be OK (better than plain white paper). A pinstripe or two would greatly increase the visual appeal, even a matting done in team colors. At some point, the need to create an affordable product has to take a backseat to the need to create an attractive one.

What if the nature of the licensing landscape makes the pictures impossible? Why do you think cards are so expensive these days? It's because all of this licensing crap has spiraled out of control and is long over due for a correction. That's only gonna happen when people stop ponying up for these contracts.

I bought the case from blowout cards and had the video of it when the product first came out. I thought you knew. Here she is, I ended up selling it a little while back but I held onto it for a while. I got $4800 for it.

I think whatever the Griffey is signed on looks really cool. Like someone said earlier it looks like a Dominoe type surface.
As stated MANY TIMES before, the cuts are an added bonus. Why is no one talking about the 82 Traded Ripken Auto? I think that is a pretty nice piece and would be very happy to pull that card.
Can't wait to see more breaks. Monday is going to take forever to get here for my 2 cases.

Then why on Gods Green Earth does that Maddux cut say 112/1000? Even if there are not a 1000 of them it sure in the hell appears that there is and that WILL effect the secondary market.

I agree...I don't care if any of them are 1/5 or whatever...it STILL says xxxx/1000. That totally kills the secondary market for them. If I were to buy it and display it, instantly, people will say: "Oh, there is 1000 of them out there". I say no, there are less than that...they reply with: "rigggggggght...".

My question: who has authenticated the cut signatures? The BGS cases are just BGS, not BGS/JSA. Does it say anything on the back in terms of who authenticated the cuts, or is Leaf self certifying the cuts?
