FWIW I think they are trying to make that signed plasticy square type thing look like a base. Regardless, still one of the worst designed products I have seen in a while. Lazy at best.

I like the signed plasticy thing, they're 10x better than stickers IMO.

I'm a fan

Aaron is a nice bonus but I would rather just spend $125 and get the whole Dimaggio Auto card rather than have it cut and put into a Leaf card. Overall a solid box though.

That DiMaggio not a "newly made" cut.

The other box break he has up didn't do too bad either. 1975 George Brett PSA 8 and a Griffey 'cut'.

Missed that. Had the same feeling when I saw it in prime cuts the 1st time. I would prefer to have the original pinnacle card. It's a shame they cut those up IMO.

Somebody just took a bath on a case break by Chris. Jason Heyward BGS 10 Sterling Auto ($250-300) was the best of the break. The other two hits were Bert Blyleven Auto RC ($30-50) and a Jim Palmer RC Auto ($30-50) both slabbed authentic. With the Aaron cut ($90-100), probably a $500 break at the high end. Lower if you're talking minus fees. Such is the life of a dutch auction style product like this.... but it amazes me how many people still think he ripped it up on that case.

Bert rookie sells for a hell of a lot more than that. never let the facts get in the way of a good story.

Wow, I had no clue those two cards are in the $30-$50 range. I would love to own them both. Gonna have to add them to my list of wants!

A PSA 5 just sold for $11 on the 19th of July. Raw copies can be routinely had for under $7. A signed version slabbed authentic will draw a premium, but my estimate was just a guess. Regardless, I doubt it goes over $75 if you want to squabble over a few bucks.

You certainly should. There are a ton of undervalued HOF caliber pitchers out there with RC that do not usually command great premiums unless they are graded PSA 6 or higher depending upon the condition sensitivity. They make great display pieces.

I would be satisfied with that break. In the long run I haven't lost my tail as I would in most products. In doing so I had a chance to pull some very high dollar cards.

True and it certainly is worth noting that in these style products you will either not make your money back or you will double or triple your money. It is a legitimate dutch auction style production. I just find it odd that on a case that was a "miss", value can be so misconstrued by your average viewer that they don't even recognize that the buyer lost a decent amount of money on the case plus time and ebay fees.

I don't hate the product by any stretch, but it just amazes me how some people can look at a break like this and start foaming at the mouth simply because some high profile but relatively inexpensive autographs are included. Blyleven is a $10 donation TTM and for a $5-8 raw purchase of his RC you can send them to him all day every day and own the same card without the slab for $15-18. Same with Jim Palmer. Find a good deal on grading and slabbing and you can come out under $40 all told on them. But people see HOF Auto RC of a living player encased and they throw arbitrary value on it.

You should see the results of a 10 case break on the front page of Atlantasportscards!

Would the very BEST three cards pictured there get you your money back? I don't see anything mind blowing at all. Not trying to be debbie downer, just figured I would see a monster or two.

Looks like those "cuts" were supposed to be placed on a figurine but the project got scrapped or too many were signed, same as the Aaron. They most likely originated from Salvino.

George Kell appears to be the SP cut auto. I would think you could get an Aaron fairly cheap if everyone list them. May not be a bad alternative since his autographed insert cards sell for a pretty good amount.

The Maddux (I'm assuming the other similar looking ones too) looks like it is from a Southland Sports Figure Statue. Those looked like something that would be on the base of a figure.

Value or not I love the idea of signed vintage in hobby boxes. No one else has done that before. Kudos to Leaf for a good idea.
