Believe it or not, some guys don't only care about the money. If I was a player, and I hade options, of course I'd turn down the Yankees. I really don't care if I wind up having $150M in the bank or $200M.

Come on man, dont be that naive. Its $54 million dollars. Not $540 or $5,400 its $54 MILLION! Think about all the money they lose with: taxes and agents not to mention whatever expenses he has outside of baseball. He might get a $100 million contract but he wont see anywhere near that amount after expenses. We're regular people, we cannot even fathom that money.

My God, how big of a crybaby are you? We get it, the Giants won the World Series so now you can feel like your life finally means something. Just be happy for the Phillies that they did everything possible to field the best team for the next couple of years. You can trade for anybody. I'm really surprised they didn't get Francoeur to platoon with Brown. Franky sucks as a full-timer but he can still mash LHP.

Jose Guillen? Jermaine Dye? Magglio Ordonez? Andruw Jones? Xavier Nady?

I really don't know. They need a right-handed bat with pop that can play LF or RF when a LHP is on the mound.

My buddy sent me a text about this deal bout an hour ago while I was at work. My response was the Braves are screwed. Not gonna act like this was a dumb signing or say what about in 3 years when they are old and owed money ect.. Plain and simple that deal screwed my beloved Braves. The Phillies fought back and caught the Braves last year and now throw Lee with Oswalt Doc and Hamels? Are you serious? ::facepalm:: Gonna be a long year in the NL East. I was feeling really good about getting Uggla in a trade to compete with the Phils.. After today.. :shock: :? Atleast the Braves are young at the right places and have some good arms coming up. If we can replace Chipper with someone that will play 140+ games and hit for power(insert Adrian Beltre) and get a LF/CF help I would be a little happier. I hope they will stick their noses in the Soriano deals. Would love for him to be the closer after the season he had. Not much going on at the back end of the pen in the ATL..

Hate to say it, but nice signing Phils.. nice job.
