And I haven't said a single derogatory thing about the Giants or their pitchersthroughout this 18 page thread.[/quote:3tw1be5g]

Sorry if I come across as derogatory, never meant to be, so let's say Lee will win the Cy Young each of the next three years and the Phillies will go 483 and 3 (They will obviously lose to Cain three times during the three seasons  ) in that time frame, while sweeping 3 World Series against the Red Sox. Still a great signing by the Phillies best of luck in the playoffs.

Sorry I didn't see his competing comment. I thought where you brought up their salaries was the first mention. There's no need to call people names either. It just makes you look like the ******.
I just stated my opinion, plus it is true they will be in their mid-thirties and on the decline...unless they become like Jamie Moyer (highly unlikely). Just wondering, how are you a lawyer if you can't control what you say?[/quote:265zpa3v]

Goddamnit, I had to unfoe you to prove my point to the guy above, and here you are, jumping down my jock. Your opinion wasn't necessary or relevant to the Cliff Lee signing.

I never said I was a lawyer. I control everything i say. I have no idea what you're talking about. Nor will I, as I'm about to re-foe ya. See ya.

Why bother Giants-Phillies arduing when the Pittsburgh Pirates are going all the way in 2011?

I don't often call people names; but after reading 17 pages of Giantfan thumping their chest, I've come to the conclusion that they're douches.

Don't worry we already had that opinion of most Phillies and Schmidt fans. ;) And I'm sorry our chest thumping got in the way of the Phillies fans chest thumping.

Ranking all pitchers by WAR over the last three years:

1) Halladay 21.5
2) Lee 20.9
3) Lincecum 20.8
16) Hamels 11.9
21) Oswalt 11.2
21) Cain 11.2

Where are you finding Lee's WAR at? His career total listed on baseball-reference.com, over 9 years is 22.1 and 16.6 in the last three years and Cain is 13.0. Here's the rest:

Halladay 20.2
Lee 16.6
Lincecum 16.7
Hamels 11.0
Oswalt 11.9
Cain 13.0

Not saying your totals are wrong, just different than I found.

It could have to do with how defense is calculated, or not included at all. Some places account for it, others don't. It can be especially difficult when it comes to positions like pitcher and catcher.
Baseball Reference includes defense in calculating WAR.

It was pretty obvious what this thread was about. Absolutely nothing to do with the Giants. But despite that, you all came in here, trolling for a fight.

I see it differently, but to each their own. I simply responded to others posts, with my opinions. Mostly my posts have been based off of the conversations that GiantsSuperFan has started. That's the great thing about message boards, we deal with individuals in the World Series threads and we enter others, all the while discussing baseball. I don't remember bagging on the Phillies or "thumping" my chest time and again but we all perceive things differently. I guess that's why we all have the right to post or not to post. Again, thanks for the three threads on Lee, creating great baseball discussion and good luck in the playoffs.

The top three WHIPS in the NL/AL last year were Lee, Oswalt, and Halladay.

I can't believe you guys won the World Series and are acting like such crybabies. I would hate to see what you guys would be writing if you guys had lost. I don't understand the animosity directed towards the Phillies, I really don't.

It was a joke you little bitch. Why are you even posting in this thread? I didn't see you post any pictures pertaining to the Phillies.

That was you in JeffN's image thread.

You Giants fans are an ornery bunch.

Giants fans only proved their fear of facing the Phillies in 2011, Thats all this thread reaks of is pure fear. I would rather have Lee at 32 and a back problem over a 20 something who loves his Dope.

Okay, in all seriousness, how can you justify ripping on Giants fans for being uppity about being the CURRENT champions. Until they are knocked-out of the playoffs (IF they are) in 2011, they are currently the best team in baseball right now. Giants fans have every right to talk all they want right now.

Being the World Series champs is not being the best team in baseball. Many World Series champs were not the best team in baseball.

That being said, even if the Giants were the best team in baseball in 2010, I think the title of this thread changes things for 2011.

That being said, we'll see.
