Okay, in all seriousness, how can you justify ripping on Giants fans for being uppity about being the CURRENT champions. Until they are knocked-out of the playoffs (IF they are) in 2011, they are currently the best team in baseball right now. Giants fans have every right to talk all they want right now.

Being the World Series champs is not being the best team in baseball. Many World Series champs were not the best team in baseball.

That being said, even if the Giants were the best team in baseball in 2010, I think the title of this thread changes things for 2011.

That being said, we'll see.

Sorry, Jeff. The Giants are the best team in baseball right NOW.

We'll see.[/quote:thvvk430]

I wish the "foe" concept would eliminate quoted messages.

Best in November, 2010, perhaps. Best in December, 2010? I don't believe so, but as I said, we'll see next year.

Jeff, with all of the Giants hating I was wondering what really has changed with the addition of Lee? The Giants historically has performed well against the Phillies staff, all 4 pitchers, not just in the playoffs. So if the match up happened again the outcome wouldn't be so cut and dry. The Phillies also lost Werth, which many Phillies fans seem worried about. During this last post season he was one of the only Phillies players to have success against the Giants staff. Doesn't seem that much has changed except in the march to the playoffs. Barring injury and assuming repeat past performance the Phillies and Giants should both make the playoffs. If they match up again, the deck still looks even with the Giants line-up more efffective vs the Phillies staff and the Phillies line-up less effective against the Giants staff. So what does the Lee signing change with the loss of offense and defense in RF for the Phillies, more 3-2 wins and less 6-2 wins?

In all fairness to the Giants, Phillies fans shouldn't be counting their chickens right now. The Giants BEAT the Phillies in the N.L. Championship Series AND beat Cliff Lee TWICE in the World Series.

A big difference is that I'm pretty sure Cody Ross wouldn't repeat his Mickey Mantle impersonation. His two HR off Halladay in Game 1 were crushing and he was fantastic the whole series.

He has lost a lot of weight and he is 1 year removed from a divorce so those emotional problems will be much better.
