Some of you may have seen the nice estate lot I recently acquired, so I thought I'd share part of my good fortune by basically giving away a good portion of it.

RULES

1.
Below you will find the complete inventory list of items in the estate lot

2. I have pre-selected 18 items to be part of this contest and have also pre-set a ridiculously low pricetag on it (otherwise known as "the tipping point").

3. The contestant who has the lowest bid without going below the tipping point will win all 18 items for that amount.

4. Only one bid per contestant.

5. The tipping point price and the 18 items will be revealed tonight, July 15th around 10pm EST.

6. At that time, the winning bidder has two options. They may choose to buy those items for that absurd price, or if they don`t like what they see, they are free to back out. Absolutely no obligation. In this case, the items will be sold traditionally (Ebay, auction house, etc...)

Please place your bid in this thread. Any questions, just ask! Good luck and have fun.

This is an incredible gesture as always Chris...I'd be tempted to bid if I had ANY clue what these items typically go for, but I don't want to embarrass myself with a bid way off the mark ;).

C'mon! You've truly got nothing to lose. :)

I'll even give you all a hint: the tipping point resembles an all time great moment in baseball history.

Well the only tipping point I can recall is '39, and there is certainly no way a bid of $39 would get me anywhere close and unfortunately I wouldn't be able to afford throwing the 1 & 9 in front for $1939 :D

That's one way to go about it!

I'll check back in a few hours to see how it's going. Again, no obligation to the winner...but I can't imagine them being anything less than thrilled.

your generosity is incredible, and your ingenuity in creating contests is impressive. I'll go with $120.

Enough with the stupid talk already! haha

Basically, you are bidding on my "reserve" for 18 of the 59 items I have pre-selected. If you are the closest to the reserve/tipping point without going under, you win the right to buy those 18 items for your bid. If you don't like the items I selected, the deal's null and void. It's that simple.

Just my way of passing on some great vintage items for a giveaway price (shipping + a token buck or two for my trouble).

I'm also running this contest simultaneously over on the net54baseball.com board. Someone is going to get a terrific price on this mini-lot!

Good luck.
