It was a 19th century kind of day. A couple of them, like Vermont and Idaho, are below my usual standard so I'll replace them eventually but for $3 a card shipped I'm not complaining. The Catalonia and Tuscany flags are starters for new sets for myself and the 1888 Bird is for my son who has decided he is going to be an ornithologist.

There was also a very small 90s lot and a sealed 1992 Upper Deck Team MVP set in the mail today.

I picked up 2 boxes of A&G yesterday. Really beat the odds.

1st box my 3 hits were: Nola relic, Vlad Jr mini framed relic & Dylan Carlson mini framed auto. Nola is quickly becoming one of my favorite active players.

2nd box was even better! My 3 hits were: Rickey framed mini relic, Baines Rip card /99 & Johnny Damon mini framed auto.

Yes, I ripped. Never had much luck with these. Pulled the extended mini Nolan Ryan card #390. In the 2nd box I also got a Vlad Sr NNO (stated print run of 50).

Last the 2nd box was also a Hot Box. Every card was a Silver foil! (The one on the right)

I've obviously had some duds but this has been my best year ever buying hobby boxes. They seem to be all or nothing.
You deserve the great luck. Nice!

Just recently discovered this card and was lucky enough to get one of my players for dirt cheap. If any of you are familiar with the 1997 Skybox E-X2001 Jambalaya Basketball inserts this, 1997 Spectrum Albert Pujols Grand Slamarama, is the baseball version of the Jambalaya and was a CASE HIT! Inserted into 1:280 packs For Hobby. Retail odds are unknown unless it was a hobby exclusive. It was originally titled "Grand Slambalaya" on the product solicitation forms. My thoughts are if the card said Grand Slambalaya instead of Grand Slamarama I would not have paid $19.00 for the card you see. I would have paid a lot more. Grand Slamarama sounds better so I am glad they called it that instead. And also this is the only year Upper Deck made this insert for baseball. I had no idea this card even existed a week ago and now here it is! :)

Luzardo is gone but that patch is pretty nice, even if it is just a Panini "player worn" one. The Foxx/Martin 2002 Fleer Fall Classics Rival Factions card finishes all my A's needs from the retail version of this set - I still need two hobby cards, one is /1000 and the other is /50, oy. Usually the Memorial Day Camo cards go a little higher than what I'd like to spend but this 2021 Elvis Andrus 11/25 was reasonable enough for me. And lastly the Select Stars Holo card, cheap but I thought it looked cool.

Alrighty...the 90s lot I've been waiting on for a week finally made it in along with a bunch of other stuff. This may be a two post mailday.

Stan Musial Auto'd Hall of Fame card with a custom 8x10 frame. I'm going to matte/frame this one and give it to my dad. He dropped hints about wanting a Musial auto not too long ago and his birthday is coming up.

First pick up in a bit for my Significant Signatures set - The eBay picture had what looked like a crease under the "d" in Snider but it was cheap so I took a chance. Good call. It was tape residue on the top load.

Snagged these three cheap on Facebook - 96 Select is such a great set of inserts

Couple Ginter inserts to get me started on my sets for this year

Random highlights from the 90s lot I got in today

Some well done Ginter customs from Ryan Rodd and his Munnatawket Bat Company set - They're all numbered out of 5, except the Jeter which is /25. I've built most of the base set but he sent me these and a lot of dupes to try to trade for the last couple cards I need.

May scan some more as I'm putting stuff up tomorrow. I haven't had a mail day like this in a while. I didn't try to take pictures of the lot of 360 Albert Pujols cards I got in or even a 10th of the 90s inserts that showed up finally.

I love the '86 autos from 2021 Topps. The GQ Khris Davis auto is 100/150. Didn't have the Stadium Club Chrome Seth Brown auto RC yet. And I got a parallel version of the Topps Now Marte/Luzardo card, 35/49.

A couple today:

The Big Frank 2006 X-Fractor 114/250 is a consolation prize after being the underbidder on a Gold Refractor a while back, but it does complete the team set. I now have A's team sets for 2006 Bowman Chrome (plus Draft) base, Refractors, X-Fractors, and Blue Refractors. Just missing two for the Gold set.

Nice to finally pick up this 2010 Rickey bat card. And I do like the Topps and Bowman Chrome color Refractors when I can pick them up for a reasonable price, this Seth Brown is 097/150.

Another 90s kind of day, well 90s and early 2000s I guess. The Stardate 2000 cards are so much nicer in hand. I don't actually collect the '02 Exhibits but any time I can snag an insert from this era of a star player /46 for $2 I'll do it.

This probably won't rank as a big pick-up for most, but it fits the collection I'm working on at the moment. Have a bunch more of his cards coming in the next weeks. Still looking for more!

Awesome Mantle!

Today's mail:

I'm glad 2007 Sweet Spot had a variety of glove leather and wood autos since the baseball signatures were wrecked. This Dan Haren is a beaut. Tejada is a 2003 Topps Tribute Contemporary Gold 21/25. And my favorite pickup for the day is the 1998 Flair Showcase Row 0 Ben Grieve 105/250. It was very tough for me to find, I ended up luckily spotting it in a poorly-worded lot with a random football card. That finally finishes up all of my A's Flair Showcase "base" needs, counting all the Row 0/1/2/3 as base cards.

Wide variety of stuff today. There's the cool wood 1996 Ultra HR King McGwire - this is the regular card rather than the one with the mail-in back. the 1998 Studio Silver Press Proof Rickey "1 of 1,000" completes the 6-card team set. Still need the Gold. The Keith Foulke 2003 Topps Chrome Black Refractor 188/199 leaves me two short of that team set. The 2004 Mirror Blue Fabric Tejada 079/100 completes the 7-card team set. And a couple of 2021 cards as well, a Reggie SP and Jake Lamb Independence Day 43/76.
