Mailday....My rarest Red Sox vintage card in my PC!!!

So glad that this one came today, I did not want to have to wait until Monday. :)


Saw it while browsing eBay last week and loved the look of the card and the red background, and after all of my other tough ebay losses the days before I knew I HAD to have this one! I pm'ed Jay1065 about this one and he informed me that it was one of the rarest cards from the E90-1 set! Wow! He later told me to not be disappointed if I got outbid because of all of the set collectors [this is a very popular prewar set] would probably go hard after this one, and that the last one he saw for sale sold for 4-500ish! I put in a snipe of about $120 before shipping and to my surprise I had won it for $80 dlvd!! :D :D :D

It looks 50x better in person!!! The red background really pops!!


OH yeah, here is a checklist of the E90-1 set that lists the rarity level of a lot of the cards in the set:

Wow I've never seen one of those before Scott. It's a really cool card, even in that condition. Very awesome pickup as usual!

Just wondering.....what makes some of them more rare than others? I know the story on the Wagner, but I've never heard of the reasons why others are more rare.

I hear there are quite a few of the piedmonts around here in people's attics with the original factories being here in Winston-Salem where they were originally made and put in cigarettes. I was talking with an antiques dealer about it a month or so ago, and he said there are many people here that don't even know what they have.

Amazing pickup dude! I actually saw a E91 Stahl at a show the other day, and while the dealer and I were looking it up in the alamanac, we saw how much the E90 ones are worth. That is an great deal you got! Congrats!
