Re: Manny Ramirez to file for re-instatement

Re: Manny Ramirez to file for re-instatement

Players Union will argue (and probably win) that he served his 100 game suspension last year, but MLB will punish him this season with likely 50 games once he is signed with someone.

Can't imagine it takes much $, could be a decent gamble for a team on the edge of the playoffs (Marlins?)

Since MLB didn't allow him to play in the Dominican League, the 50 games from the Dominican League season should come off of his 100 game suspension.

Not saying they will, but they should.

'Manny being selfish' LOL.

Interesting the article said that 74% of people said he shouldn't be inducted into the HOF.

It's too bad you can't suspend guys from pro sports for being undeserving or for being ****** bags.

Was their a disclaimer? Something like...

"26% of the people who voted on this poll were Red Sox fans"

;)

Re: Manny Ramirez to file for re-instatement

Well, I am sure part of the reason that he wants back is that he is already out of money. He strikes me as a guy might might not make great financial decisions in life.

Also: if he comes back I would love if he was in Cleveland...though I am not sure where they would stick him. We need an OF...a 1B...but we need guys who can field AND hit.

My first thought was that the Marlins would sign him to pinch hit, a la Giambi in Colorado.

I hope he goes to an AL team so I can watch him suck in person.

Re: Manny Ramirez to file for re-instatement

Is there any team that would take him? He had to practically beg to get the contract he got last spring, before his second violation. Even if he is reinstated, what team wants to take on that baggage?

I don't think Ozzie would put up with Manny's ******** and baggage.

He's not even remotely out of money. What makes you "sure?" Because he strikes you as that kind of "guy?" :benson: Dude has an incredible agent and that comes with advisers....the same advisers and agents that prove their financial worth to future signers

His problem is he will never coach, be a commentator or analyst. He craves the spotlight and the fame that comes with it. He isn't ready to let major league baseball go, although major league baseball does not need him anymore.

He wants the fame, not the money

I like to think that MLB as a whole has moved on from Manny Ramirez. I don't see any team needing that extra baggage anymore. IMO, he no longer brings anything to a team for the team to want to deal with his antics.

Are these the same advisers that told him to get busted for PED's on more than one occasion or are they the advisers that told him to beat on his wife? Manny has a long, long, history of making bad decisions. I don't think it is out of the question to think he might need the money. Hell, he wouldn't be the first celeb to blow tens of millions of dollars.

Only 39 years old

Great Hitter will always hit
(never batted below .290 since his rookie season... not including his 17 AB 2011 cup of coffee w/ Rays)

Id like to see him hit 3 more Grand Slams this year

Manny being Manny is right...
and counting......
21 slams
1,831 RBIs
12 x 100+ RBI seasons
555 HRs
12 x 30+ HRs
547 Doubles
.312 BA
11 x .300+ BA
.585 slug%
.996 OPS
9 Silver Sluggers
12 All Star Games

they are all HOFers, PEs (ie Weight Sets) or not, they still have to read the pitch and hit that round ball with a round bat.
