I picked this up in January. Took a while to arrive with new eBay Authentication. Was sitting unopened for about a month until a week ago. I hold on to my pickups and open my card mail on long days when I need a morale boost. The "new pickup" here is realizing on close inspection there is a second, partial, signature!! Munson tried to sign on the front, but the pen didn't work, some streaks so he switched to the back. It wasn't listed as such by the seller. A nice surprise!

I am trying to display a few key cards from my collection with their corresponding wax box/packaging. Plus, I don't have enough such cards to fill a whole curio like some here. @magicpapa I feel this creates more interest than a simple row of slabs. This Heritage box will have to do until I can get an empty 1975 Topps box to complement this. Although as a Yankee fan, I don't mind having Cole over the Mets pitcher (?Seaver) who graces the 1975 packaging.

I picked up a lot of about 70 HOF autographs this past week. These are the highlights but it also included Frank Robinson, Eddie Mathews, a couple Jim Thomes, and a bunch of other awesome autographs. I didn't actually see the John McGraw auto in the listing until I went back and reviewed the video of it. They'll all be going to JSA in a couple weeks at a show but I'm 95% sure they're all legit. The Wahoo Sam Crawford was the last "expensive" pickup I needed for my Glory of Their Times custom cut auto project. I'll honestly probably sell the HOF postcard though to pick up a signed 3x5. I have just a real hang up about cutting up a nice card or postcard that might fit in someone else's collection. The Nestor Chylak Jr. signed Bill Klem postcard is a bit of an oddity too. Nestor was elected posthumously to the Hall in 1999 after he passed in 1982 making a signed copy of his HOF postcard impossible. He's something of a rare signature. All three of the Umpires included in this lot are actually.

1997 Pinnacle Totally Certified Platinum Blue Jorge Posada 0168/1999. Probably my favorite version of this set, even though it's not as rare as the Platinum Gold #/30. The blue just pops with Dufex. Also, it was only $1.50 shipped.

I'd have to go back and look at a few examples of each to feel good about my ability to ID these guys. All but Grove are lesser seen signatures. I hate to be that guy, but something seems a little off on a couple, almost like the same person signed a few. I hope I am wrong. Good luck with the authentication and if real, great score.

If they are not, can you still somehow get refunded? Found this from a SCD article. if that McKechnie is real, then it sounds like you have something pretty damn special!IMG_7434.PNG

Back from vacation and finally had a chance to open up 2 weeks worth of mail, sit down and post on the page.

A couple unredeemed redemption cards, a couple BKB autographs, a Walt Frazier Press Plate, the Cuellar Timeless Teams are the Gold parallel/5, Gossage Archives /25 & /99 and a nice lot of 1978 RC Cola cans with Ryan. I'd like to complete this set just for the nostalgia of it. I have the 1977 set with the square boxes below the photos and it's around 70 cans. This series is 100 and has the baseball below the photo.

1998 Leaf State Representatives Andy Pettitte, #2312/5000. Front has foil etching and the state of NY has Dufex effect, which makes sense because Pinnacle Brands acquired Donruss in 1996.

State Representatives

This 30-card set was printed on etched-foil and for each player, the card paid homage to the State that housed the team they played for. For the two Canadian teams, the cards are titled "Provincial Powers" and paid homage to the respective Provinces that housed the team they played for. Each card is serial-numbered to 5000 copies

Hard to believe a card numbered /5000 was considered a tough pull. Just goes to show how over-produced those cards were. Hell, 1991 Donruss Elite inserts were /10000 and I’ve read stories of collectors opening cases of that set and not getting an insert.

Been a big, big month for pickups.

First we have a couple of lineup card pairs:\

- 1963 World Series Game 3. Don Drysdale pitched a 3-hitter
- 9/25/1956 - Sal Maglie No-Hitter. Jackie Robinson's final career 2B

Got something a little different.

Many of you may recognize the characters from Charlotte's Web, one of the classic children's books of the last 100 years. The illustrator of that book was Garth Williams, who also illustrated Stuart Little, The Little House on the Prairie series and dozens of other books.

This drawing was never used in the book. According to Williams' daughter, when he was illustrating the book, he drew a few extra drawings so that the author/publisher had additional options.

This was one of those drawings.
