Fred Hutch & Jimmie *****, back to back (+ Garvey)

Kind of a big one for the basketball collection. Would prefer an older one, not many to choose from, so I grabbed this.

Charles Barkley. He does have any bargain auto cards. This was as close as I could find.

1997 Topps Rookie Cup (Jeter Archives) Auto /5 -- As a Topps base collector, I'm partial to the Rookie Cup cards. The 1971 Munson is the gold standard, this is an updated take with another Yankee captain. Horizontal design as well, but with the newer cup design. Felt it went cheap at Goldin, didn't expect to win. Price was on par with a "common" Jeter auto. Perhaps, the grade must have shyed a lot of collectors away, but how much does it matter for a card /5? As far as I believe, this is the only certified version of this card. A smudged PSA slabbed in person autographed card sold for just as much on eBay recently.

Got something a little different.

Many of you may recognize the characters from Charlotte's Web, one of the classic children's books of the last 100 years. The illustrator of that book was Garth Williams, who also illustrated Stuart Little, The Little House on the Prairie series and dozens of other books.

This drawing was never used in the book. According to Williams' daughter, when he was illustrating the book, he drew a few extra drawings so that the author/publisher had additional options.

This was one of those drawings.

Shared this on my Dodger thread, but might as well add it here. Andre Dawson Penn Emblem in a lot that I won. He was the only one I needed. I am down to 15 unique players needed and 1 Rose variant. If i am lucky (and loosen up the $), I may complete this before I die, but I doubt it. Bonus Garvey in the lot was nice and helped me to justify the lot price in the end.

A friend found a card packed away in an old box in his house and I actually didn't have it! 1993 Donruss Elite Supers Dennis Eckersley 2517/5000. And from eBay, 2004 Ultra Platinum Medallion Eric Byrnes 50/66 and 2004 Bowman Heritage Mahogany Brad Sullivan 22/25. For whatever reason 2004 has been the toughest year for me to track down for the A's Platinum Medallion run.
