Maybe Razor Metal autos aren't that hard to grade after all?

Another reason we may be seeing more gem mints is the minimum grade factor. They want to make more money, submitters have set the minimum grade at 9.5 so they become more generous in their grading to charge the full fee.

If cards don't meet the min grade, they get charged the full amount anyways (with the exception of cards in bulk orders).

So, you think they risk their integrity as a company to make more money?

I really think they would put themselves in some serious trouble if they practiced business like that. I don't think they are an amazingly run company, but I doubt they would take that chance.

great card jeff
One of my favorite things on this board is when someone shows off a nice graded card they just got(usually a 9.5 or *gasp* a 10) that is immediately shot down as "Wow I don't know how that got a 9 on surface cause I see a gnarly booger towards the lower left...... " or whatever.

The centering on your Beckham looks to be 60/40, I dont think it deserved a 9.5. However, I did receive my 3 Santana base metal autos today and all 3 are absolutely flawless. Perfect centering, no bumps, no scratches, all 3 are completely grade worthy and would receive a 9.5 at the least. I am completely surprised! Brian must have known this was my only Razor purchase and considered trying to loop me in

Anywhere Delta goes.
My 2 Wieters Metals that were submitted with the FCB order came back 9.5s. (Have not received them back to show off) I really did not think they would get that high. I did it as an experiment, for $5.00 each I thought what the hell. That experiment certainly paid off.

I would love to see the submissions of people who claim that BGS is getting far easier.

My last 3 submissions I've gone:
6/35
8/40
12/60

Not too good.

I think the reason people think they have become lenient is similar to how we view box breaks. We only see the good cards and good submissions. Im sure there are plenty of people who have their own submissions, but don't do very well. Have they become lenient, maybe a little, but I think we are learning we have to view each set differently, whether we like it or not

This is 100% dead on. Also, you have to remember that most of the members here use a MG when grading, and anything that doesn't meet that does not get shown off. There is no doubt the standards have become a little lax over the years, but I do not think they are as easy as everyone thinks they are.

If that was bulk maybe. But MG in regular submission, it saves them money to not hand out 9.5s(slabbing, shipping back etc). They still get paid regardless, thats why when people send with me I always say why not get what you pay for.
