Aww man, that's sad. 
I had just read yesterday that he is the only left-handed Red Sox pitcher to start on Opening Day in consecutive seasons (besides Lester this year). That man could pitch - even threw a no hitter! Played his whole career with the Sox, too.

It's so sad to see all of the stars of the '50s passing away.
There aren't many left.
I have a whole binder of autographed cards from that era that I got sending to players through the mail in the 80s and 90s.
Almost all of the players have passed on.
