Aww man, that's sad. :( I had just read yesterday that he is the only left-handed Red Sox pitcher to start on Opening Day in consecutive seasons (besides Lester this year). That man could pitch - even threw a no hitter! Played his whole career with the Sox, too.

he was a great pitcher and ball player i am sorry to see him pass but at least he is no longer hurting

It's so sad to see all of the stars of the '50s passing away.
There aren't many left.
I have a whole binder of autographed cards from that era that I got sending to players through the mail in the 80s and 90s.
Almost all of the players have passed on. :cry:
