Melky Cabrera - OF - Blue Jays
Bruce Levine of 670TheScore.com reports that the White Sox have agreed to a three-year contract with Melky Cabrera, pending a physical.
Exact terms aren't yet known, but the contract is expected to the in the $45 million range. It was reported on Friday that the Mariners made a three-year offer, but Cabrera apparently preferred the offer he got from Chicago. The 30-year-old batted .301/.351/.458 with 16 home runs and 73 RBI in 139 games this past season for the Blue Jays and further strengthens Chicago's lineup. Throw him in with the additions of Jeff Samardzija, David Robertson, and Adam LaRoche and it's clear the White Sox intend to go for it in 2015.
