It's easily been Miguel's best season.
His final line is just silly at .328/38/126 and .420/.622/1.042 slash numbers.
I would love to see him win the MVP as he has been the ONLY hitter in the AL (and maybe all of baseball) to consistently destroy pitching all year long, but his team did not make the playoffs which unfortunately may hold him back. But it has to mean something that he is the only player that has been in the MVP discussion all year.
For what it's worth, I don't think the team reaching the playoffs should play such a large role in determining MVPs. Pujols should have about 30 MVP awards by now and I was also a big supporter of giving it to ARod when he was clearly the best player in the game on the last place Rangers in the early 00s.
