Shooting himself in the face can also mean the impact from the gun was strong enough and maybe his hands were shaking and instead of the gun being in his mouth it slightly came out as he fired and therefore shot himself in the face....

suicide as a sin is not specifically spoken based on the language during the time the bible was written, it is, however, implied.

i was not trying to turn it into a religious thing as i am far from religious these days. people who kill themselves i just have zero respect for regardless of who it is... if this offends anyone, then those particular people have serious problems.
