DJ @ # 3?

(Even though I'll be the first to admit that's too high.)

Rondon has no business anywhere near this list, though.

I can't wait to see Heyward play, to see if he is for real. The guy has been lights out so far.

For some reason, I'm not sold on Jennings....not sure why, just not that excited....not a top five guy in my book.

Is it just me...or does it seem like Wade Davis has been around forever?

It's not just you. His first cards came out 6 years ago.

As for Jennings, I think he'll make you a believer before too long.

Is anyone else sick of seeing Fernando Martinez on these lists?

And the guy is still only like 22!

Morrison barely making the list? Come now.

Chris Carter that low?

No Michael Taylor?

I can't see Ackley this high with no resume.

If Strasburg is #2 then Chapman should be #3.

Both have no experience in Proffesional Baseball, and both of them seem to be very raw.

I don't see why being a very good player in college automatically gets you a top spot. College and the minors are very different. Metal vs Wooden, more patient hitters, etc.

In order to be a top prospect in baseball you should have to play in the minors for a good part of a season to prove you can do it.

I don't see why Bryce Harper isn't #1. He has practically already signed with the Nationals so why not?

Why not? He is the MOST underrated pitcher in the minors. This kid can pitch with the best of them and I am glad someone finally noticed him!

Not sure what logic gets you to that point. Chapman was pretty underwhelming against international competition and in the Cuban league, while Strasburg dominated the NCAA last year. Strasburg has two "plus-plus" pitches, and has uncanny control while Chapman has an electric arm but cannot consistently throw strikes.

I really don't see your quibble.

+1. I do not think Chapman is all that and a bag of chips yet. Top 30 prospect yes, top 10, no.

Heyward has proven himself though. You are saying that Stras should be number one? They have it right.

F-mart at 16....posey not the top catcher? 2 catchers in front, when almost every other prospecting site says he's the best OVERALL catcher.

no Chris Carter in the top 10 is an absolute joke, he is the only one on the list that legitly has a chance of 40 Hr in the majors, Jhoulys Chacin is solid, but not top 30 solid and doesn't have nasty stuff. Michael Taylor no where to be seen?
Desmond jennings is very good, but I would put Stanton over him.

I do like Chapmans place though. Middle of the pack.

Disagree with you there. He's got power, he's got plate discipline, but not much defense or a throwing arm. And can't run. Top 10 prospects should possess these skills.

I personally think they ranked him just right.

This true, but just imagine a David Ortiz sort of. DH opportunity on the A's.

I feel like he's one of the 10 who may actually achieve star status.

The pre-season RoY favorite so far is only at 15? i don't follow. He's the most MLB-ready player on this list.

I think Montero is a better hitter than Posey and people dig hitters over better defense. Posey is a monster, but Jesus is a Yankee prospect as well. I dig both of them.

I'll agree montero is a better hitter, but not by much. Posey had a very impressive season, and was able to maintain taht average and power at AAA.

His defense (and defensive tools) are way better than Monteros, not even close, thus overall I think he's a stronger CATCHING Prospect. If purely based on hitting/offense- I would put Montero over posey, but not by much.

It's a fine list overall with few exceptions. Strasburg should leap frog Heyward. I don't buy the, "if he doesn't have experience he shouldn't be 1" arguement. Desmond Jennings should be flirting with the top 10, but not in the top 3. Pedro Alvarez should be in the top 10. Chris Carter is exactly where he should be. Dustin Ackley is exactly where he should be. FMart and Rondon shouldn't even sniff this list. I know I'm in the minority here, but Kelley and Westmoreland are too high.

If this is the case then Taylor should be in the top 15.
