You guys realize he is the likely BA #1 prospect for 2011, right?

His prices are not going to slow down in the near future.

That's what I've been saying for 5 months now. I'm glad nobody listens as I liked not having much competition over the winter months.

I can say that I've seen you say multiple times to buy Trout, over the last few months. And I don't read near that many threads on here.

I've been making a strong push over the last month, and have gotten a solid stash of his stuff for being so late. It reminds me of when 2010 Bowman came out, I told people to buy Strasburg chromes at $17 all day long, and so many people thought that was nuts. They hit $30+ with ease after his call up.

I think people get caught up in the player and the price, and the "what if's". Bottom line is, hype sells. Stras had a boat load of it, and Trout is about to be the #1 prospect by BA. His prices aren't done climbing. But, some will continue to scream sell-and that is ok. But I just don't think he's near his peak, personally.

This one is up to $223.50 with five days to go. Anybody have any guesses on where this one will end up?

I wouldn't be surprised if it hit $300. Rarely do one hear a prospect is a 6 tool prospect. That just does not get thrown around a lot. So, to hear two "experts" say that he is...the sky is the limit for him and his cards!

Since others have posted in here with their cards I might as well too.

I bought this back in 09 when BCDP came out for 40.00 at a local show. A Steal!!!! I got it graded right after I picked it up

I don't have a scan but I picked up a Sterling Trout Auto in December for 7.00

I don't get the Trout excitement...and I'm an Angels fan. Yes, the kid has a ton of potential, but this is crazy excitement for a guy who should start the season in A+ ball.

Heyward's pricing went nuts in Spring Training because he was going to break camp with the team, Trout will not. Nor should we assume that he'll spend even half of Spring Training with the MLB squad and therefore no ESPN highlights from MiLB camp.

While there is potential for Trout to start kicking out some power numbers in the Cal League, it's far from a lock. And while he's still young, I just don't see these dollar figures holding on.

Let's assume he spends the entire first half at the new Inland Empire affiliate, what sort of stats will he need to be sitting on to maintain these prices? .350+ batting average and 20+ home runs? Basically he would have to duplicate Brandon Wood's insane numbers right? (NOTE: Not equating the two at all, just the gaudy numbers.)

So, does anyone seriously think Trout has more than 10 home runs at All-Star break?

I'm not saying I don't think he can be great, because if he's hitting .300+ and scoring 100 runs, I'll be stoked...but these aren't numbers that keep the prospecting masses excited.

You're trying to use logic to explain prospecting hype?? That'll never work.

I just go along for the ride and jump off before the bandwagon crashes.

Hopefully for many, the Trout bandwagon stays on the road for a looooong time!

Heyward: Ken Griffey Jr.
Trout: Johnny Damon with a bit better hitting ability

Better hitting ability than a guy who has a shot at 3,000 hits? I can't decide if this is a slight on Damon or if people think Trout is the next Ty Cobb.

The point is how exciting a player is Johnny Damon - wow 3,000 hits.......yeah, what else? Guy is an above average MLB for his career. Griffey...... is wayyyyyy better than Damon.

So, Heyward is going to be better than Trout in the long run.

Not very hard to figure out by his post.

Montero (over three years)

17 G - .555 AVG - 18 AB - 5R - 10H - 19 TB - 3 doubles - 0 triples - 2 HR - 5 RBI

Trout (over one year)

4 G - .571 AVG - 7 AB - 4R - 4H - 10 TB - 1 doubles - 1 triple - 1 HR - 4 RBI

Small correction on your numbers, Trout had two doubles.

ESPN only has one double.

Oh yay, comparing ST numbers.

If you would like, we could compare A+ stats, but you probably wouldn't like that, considering Trout was in the CAL league.

Dude, Montero > Trout, period. Tool.

That is amazing that you can buy Justin Upton for cheaper than Trout. I will take Upton all day in that contest.
