K% down almost 8% this year, BB% up almost 3%. Will be in he running for #1 overall prospect.

His plate discipline has improved dramatically. I think we are seeing the 2 best hitters in all of baseball in the FSL in Stanton and Montero.

Edit: It says he has 2 HR tonight (13)[/quote:25gpqhg1]

I think the stats messed up, because if you look on his page it says he's 4-10 today.

Anyway, they might be the two best. I think Heyward, Vitters, and Smoak are in that race as well, maybe Freddie Freeman as well. I still expect Hosmer and
Alvarez to eventually catch up to that group. Yonder Alonso is starting to show his ability as well, and Brett Wallace is already up and hitting in AAA. Not sure what to think about Lars Anderson right now. Then ofcourse, there's the currently inactive Logan Morrison.[/quote:25gpqhg1]

Going into the 07 Draft, I was looking at Vitters as the best HS bat in that class. I think a lot of people jumped off that ship last year including myself, but I'm right back on it this year. He must not have recovered from that injury until now. I think Heyward is in the duscussion for sure. I read he's adjusted his stroak one way or another to help utilize his power potential. I'm split down the middle on Smoak and Alonso. I can't decide which is better. Smoak is the popular choice. I think I'm just trying to be different. I'm anxious to see what Lo Mo can do when he gets back. He's suppose to get tome OF work. Dominic Brown is growing on me...fast.

Top 5 Prospects next year not in order:

Bumgarner
Stanton
Heyward
Strasburg
Montero
if bumgarner keeps it up and has a minor league career era of around 1.30-1.60 ya i think he gets #1 overall[/quote:2gg4qsct]

No one will top Strasburg.

I wasn't a Vitters fan until the shortly before the draft, then I totally bought in. I didn't jump off the ship last year, but you had to have atleast some concern. I used to not believe in Smoak, but he's pretty much proven himself, I can't say who's better between he and Alonso right now, but I preferred Alonso going into the draft. I'm a very big Dom Brown fan, was soooo happy to pull his Red Refractor last year, but $250 was too good to pass up at the time. His power is coming on quicker than I thought, especially in that league. I'm hoping the Phils get desperate for a starter, and the M's can pry Brown away in a deal for Bedard or Washburn(I know, a stretch with Washburn).

Friedrich made his CAL debut for Modesto. He faced a bit of adversity early on but since has been smooth.

Although short, Melville allowed only one run on 2 hits in 4 innings, 7 k's too.

I have no idea why he isn't in AAA with Bergensen, Berken, and Hernandez in the majors.

Also, the BEST minor leaguer to not have a SINGLE card went 3-5 with a dinger.

His last 10 games he's hitting .519 3 HR and only 1 K. He's in AA

Oh my god. Not one mentioned Montero yet.... :o ::facepalm::

Anywho, Troy Patton improved to 6-1 with a cool. 1.75 ERA.

Vitters is an absolute monster. 2-5 with another dinger and 4rbi's on the night.

It was a game winner in the 9th!
