Didn't see a thread, thought Id start one after seeing Jason Heyward hit another HR (6) as hes 1-1 on the day with a BB. Heyward has HR'ed in back to back games now which is great seeing as he just came back from a injury a couple of weeks ago.

Others to watch: Daryl Thompson, Jeff Samardzija, Neftali Feliz, Bud Norris, Evan Anundsen, Alejeandro Sanabia (see this week's Rotowire show), Brett Hunter, William Smith, Bret Lorin, Casey Kelly, TJ House vs Wilmer Font, Ross Seaton, Jason Knapp, Matt Moore, Jeurys Familia

Wieters found the other side of the fence. HR (2)

About time, he looked like Greg Zaun in the game I saw him play. Also the weather is warmer tonight that could be why.

Ryan Strieby is 2-2 with a walk and an RBI. He leads the league in HR, RBI, Slugging %, OPS, Runs, and is second in total bases.

Still amazing to me that he can do this two years in a row and get absolutely no respect in the card world.

Maybe because he's probably the next Brad Eldred.

might be because of his advanced age.

23 years old in AA with .290 10HR 29RBI in 100AB 1/2 BB/K and Brad Eldred is the best comparison you can come up with? You must be one of those 19 year old MLB phenom elite super prospect collectors.

Nolan Reimold just got called up to debut at the age of 26 years old.

Well, I could understand that argument last year, but being 23 years old in Double-A is a completely different story, because there are tons of very good prospects that play in AA as 23-year-olds (or sometimes even older).

For example, this guy named Matt LaPorta was 23 all of last year in AA...and Strieby is on pace to put up almost TWICE as many homeruns as LaPorta hit at the same level at the same age.

And leading the league in basically every important offensive category for a power hitter to me is pretty darn impressive.

I really shouldn't even be arguing for Strieby because his numbers speak for themselves.

Please don't argue his case. People need to learn themselves that not all prospects are going to be in the bigs at the age of 19-20.

I'm just gonna start thanking every post you make like this, because you are 110% correct.

Not looking to argue, but I'd love to discuss if anyone wants to chime in... What makes Matt LaPorta better than Ryan Strieby? Like I mentioned above, Strieby is on pace to crush the numbers LaPorta put up at the same age and same league.

ATH: would you be this "fired up" about his lack of hobby love if you werent invested in him?

AKA: There are very few examples of elite players that have not been playing everyday in the MLB by age 24. i am the first to admit that i am an age-ist, but it seems that ebayers are as well
