Minneapolis shows?

Any that folks from around that area would recommend? I'm in Rochester and thinking about hitting one soon.

I needed to rephrase my post.

Valley West is a good show. Lots of vendors, a few autograph guests, and some decent prices.

The Earle Brown Heritage Center Show in Brooklyn park is solid also, but the only time I was there, most of it was vintage stuff.

The TC collectors can give you a better idea as I live very far away from the Metro area.

Valley West shows in Bloomington are consistently good. From time to time, they'll have one at Har Mar in Roseville, or the Maplewood Mall - they're more hit-or-miss (more often, miss). Every so often in Rochester, I know they put on shows on a Sunday at one of the hotels there. I've never been to one, but have always been intrigued.

And if you ever see that Valley View Mall in La Crosse is doing one, those tend to be decent, also.

Yeah, the Valley West shows in Bloomington are the most consistent, best quality show around here. There are about 10-15 tables, which is far from ideal, but it's better than nothing.

And if you ever see that Valley View Mall in La Crosse is doing one, those tend to be decent, also.

Yes, the Lacrosse ones always seem to be alright. I hit the Rochester one each time but it's the same stuff usually and I dont collect Vikings/Twins/Wild so it takes about 20 minutes to see everything.

Haven't been to a Valley West show in a while. Might go there.

How big are the Rochester shows usually, dealer-wise? Are they worth driving down from Minneapolis for?

Haven't lived there for a couple years but I will agree with everyone saying the Bloomington one is the best. Avoid Mounds View for sure!

I haven't been to a "good" one in the cities for a few years so it's tough for me to compare. I do know a few guys I know from way back (when I worked for Dean Fox/Best in Baseball) travel down usually.

It's a lot of local team stuff and a small amount of vintage. 20 tables or so.

Moundsview is definitely bad, only worth hitting if you are going to the shop in the mall and/or doing business in the area. It was much better when the mall was open from end to end. I like the Valley West shows, pretty much the same people there each time but you can find a little bit of everything. I'm not a big fan of the Earle Brown shows. If you aren't getting autographs, it's a waste of $6 in my opinion. I'd rather pay $9 for the TwinsFest show. I have had good luck finding stuff at the Maplewood show and there seems to be a few people there that aren't at other shows. It's too bad we don't get a nice big summer show like there used to be at the State Fairgrounds and/or RiverCentre.

I remember going to the State Fairgraounds show every chance I had in the late 80's. I was in school at St. Cloud back then, so it was fun to drive down for the day. They had a Hall of Famer signing at every show. I got Lou Brock--one of my childhood heroes for $8! Biggest missed opportunity of my life was in 1989 when Mickey Mantle was there. $20 for flats, $25 for balls, something like that. I wasn't keen on Mickey back then. He wasn't from my era, he didn't play for my team, so I wasn't interested. Talk about ::facepalm::
