Isn't that good they have ALOT of work to do the Franchise mode is UNPLAYABLE because guys have low potential ratings. I noticed several players in both the default on game roster and the current online update that have extremely low potential. Several well known players in the majors have D potential. Jared Weaver, Scott Kazmir, Ian Kinsler, Brian McCann Ryan Zimmerman, Adrian Gonzalez, Mark Reynolds, Zach Duke, Yadier Molina, Paul Maholm, Robinson Cano, Carlos Quentin etc are all D potential players. Jose Reyes, David Wright, Jeremy Bonderman and Casey McGehee are F potential. Matt Stairs has A potential though. Hmmm...
All these players with low potential get placed on waivers after the trade deadline.. in my franchise i picked up reyes.. Agon and cano because they were placed on waivers.. and if you want to trade for them all you have to do is offer a minor leaguer with B potential. until they get that fixed i will not be playing this game because it's unplayable. also trades are done for you in the middle of the franchise. i look at my mail and it says the padres have accepted your trade. mccann is off my team and mat latos is on it when i didnt do anything.
There are also alot of bugs in the game like commentary mistakes.. i hit a two run homerun and they next batter the announcers say this is a crucial part in the game he needs to get the runner home from 3rd and there is no one on 3rd.. hopefully they fix this stuff i would have rather waited an extra month than to have this garbage..
sorry for the rant. lol

I guess there had to be one person who didn't like the game, sorry that it's you.

The potential issue on star players will probably be fixed with one of the weekly roster updates they are supposed to do during the season.

You may have also set the computer to control trades on franchise mode, so that's why it's doing trades for you.

I played a couple games last night and didn't notice any commentary bugs, but I wouldn't be surprised if it happened now and then. Most of the time I tune out the commentary because its so repetitive anyway.

I don't see that many complaint. Like any game made..there is always bugs..ect but those will be fixed w/ an update. Even w/ those bugs..its still light yrs better than the 2k Series.

Silly question...but can't you modify potential? I wouldn't want to change every one of them - but someone will. Then you can just download their roster - correct? I do that anyway because I like to grab the rosters that contain prospect info, etc.

Look on:

operationsports.com/forums

There is a thread by an SCEA developer asking what players potential ratings are wrong/bad.

They Are Working on it, and it an easy fix, unlike the crap that put out by 2K Sports.

you cannot edit potential which is dumb to me but glad to hear they are working on it. i was going to make minor league guys for every team but im going to wait until they come out with fixed potentials.

Join operationsports.com. There is a few members that take the time to create every minor league player / roster and their true abilities. Its a great site and a MUST if you have this game.
That site takes this game to another level.

The game just released yesterday, the roster update before that, so give them some time to work out the bugs.

As stated in the link on my previous post, most if not all of your specific complaints have been/are being addressed and will be (hopefully) fixed by the next roster update on March 8th.

Have a little patience. These things take time to fix.

Other than changing all your franchise settings to manual , my advice would be to play around with other modes and wait a week or so to wait for someone to go through the pain-stacking process of manually adjusting every player and adding actual prospects beyond the 40 man roster.

That's what I did with last year's release and sure someone is working on it right now for this year's. Made the game a ton better.....my only initial complaint was they made it too realistic, for example when I loaded the created roster Pedroia was no longer a 20-30 hr guy for me (like they programmed him last year) instead he was a D for power and good for around 15.

Yeah, the cost is so high now I only renew every 2 to 3 years. I have 07 and 09, and I am happy with 09. I do not play online, so really no need to waste $60.

The attributes are correct, so playing single games or online games don't see any problems from the potential ratings. The issue comes from franchise mode where each season the attributes will decline steeply for a play with a low potential rating.
