That is an ignorant comment. Yeah because one of the effects of steriods is it makes you pitch unhittable balls? Steriods is such a small advantage, and fans make such a HUGE deal about it! Really gets old.

Wait... wasn't there a good stretch of time where you had a BoSox logo with steroid needles as an avatar and a poorly photoshopped pic of manny and ortiz in your sig?

I may be mistaken. Sorry if I am...

Come to think of it.. I am fairly sure I am mistaken. Left my post for the sake of possibly finding out who it was. VWnut, maybe? I can't remember...

You guys miss the point on steroids. It is a VERY small advantage. And only the most dedicated to their craft would take it. These were the best of the best taking this stuff. They were the guys that would give up years of their lives to be the best they could possibly be, you know, like you were taught in little league, give 110%. That is why the hardest workers, Clemens, Bonds, Pujols, McGwire, ARod, the gym rats in general are the guys that were using. And frankly as a fan I appreciate it! I want my stars to do EVERYTHING in their power to be the best they can be. At the time, there were no penalties for doing it, so I have no problem with roids in that era, and neither should anyone else. Everyone is fine with Curt Shilling getting his ankle shot up on national TV in the World Series! Why is that? That definatley enhanced his performance! That was steriods that was shot into his ankle, and he would not been able to perform without them. This is why I can never get with a guy like Griffey. Griffey was one of the more talented players ever, but he was lazy. He never lifted weights, by his own admission, and he is glorified for it? Why? All of the injuries he sustained with the Reds were because of his laziness. Mostly hamstring pulls right after spring training, when you should be in great shape! If he showed half of the dedication that Clemens, Bonds, McGwire showed, he could have been the greatest ever. Now he is just the most overrated ever, next to Mantle.

All named are worthy with the exception of Papelbon. While he is a great relief pitcher, I just don't think he has had enough time in to be considered.

You are on your own little island. It's quite laughable.

Is not that Papelbon isn't a great closer. Is the idea of the decade. I think U really have to play 5 full season to be consider fairly.

So what other closer in the decade played 5 full seasons and has better stats or equal stats to Papelbon? You come up with an answer and I will agree with the people who think Papelbon should not be on the list.

Future HOF John Smoltz make a very good argument.
