Morning all, @dano7, and everyone else, don’t know if you get sports illustrated, but there’s an article about the ‘52 Mantle…and one about Salem, not sure if it’s the one you talk about all the time, but it says the Salem (Va.) Pirates of the Class A Carolina league…prolly defunct now, but the article seems to be about the late 70s or so…I haven’t read anything yet, just skimmed through the magazine

Went to many Salem Pirates/Buccaneers/Avalanche/Red Sox (and other names over the years) games. There were some great players here in the 70's, including Dave Parker and John Candelaria.
