I have been selling Topps products for over 40 years now and what I wrote is the honest truth. I could care less if you believe it or not. Just a customer told me about this thread and I thought I would come on and tell you how much a box cost me directly from Topps.
Thanks for reading and enjoy your card collecting!

WOW, so boxes directly from Topps cost you $90 per, yet stores are selling them for $260-$300 per box. If this is true, I would NEVER feel bad for my LCS again. Gilmo, can you comfirm this?

Is that from Topps to you, or from the distributor to you?

No guys. Boxes cost me $70 per so my math is off. I paid $560 per 8 box case. I charged $100 per box, so I made $240 for the one case I opened and sold boxes of.
Hey give me a break. It is Sunday my only day off. I am thinking Pro Bowl not arguing with collectors. If I had my calculator here instead of my store I would have gotten things right the first time. That is why I never sell any thing in my store without my calculator. But I am not making up excuses. And how did you know my shop is in Brooklyn?

It also probably helps to have known some retired members from Topps. I was one of the first shop owners Topps sold to direct from their warehouse and not a distributor.
But I saw where one person posted that Topps factory cost per box is $201? Boulderdash. I have customers who have told me that they have bought boxes other places and on eBay for $140 to $180 or so.
Guess that is why I have a crowd in my shop on the day products are to arrive.
I am not going to argue about this. I do not care if I can not calculate prices in my head accurately to meet some collectors standards.
I know what I know and I sold boxes for $100 and 8 box cases for $950.
Bottom line.
Sorry if you do not know my shop and if you pay more.
Best of luck to all of you card collectors.

baseballcardseller shouldn't have finished the bottle of grandpappy's cough medicine on an empty stomach.

Like every good business person...don't EVER let anyone know where you are or how to spend their money with you.

Then dont sign up to correct people if you are not willing to back it up with some solid facts. And just a heads up saying you are taking your ball and going home dont make you look any more right.

A customer of mine told me about this thread, and I have no problem telling you prices I pay directly from Topps. The price per box for 2010 Bowman Sterling is $90 per box or $720 per case. Now keep in mind that I have to buy a certain amount of every Topps and Pannini product that comes out, even if it doesn't sell. If it wasn't for the low prices, and the MSRP, then alot of dealers would not be able to stay in business. I am fortunate enough to own my business and the building my shop is in. Above my shop are apartments that I live in and rent out. So I am fortunate that I do not rely on only selling baseball cards and I have apartments rented out as another form of income.
Keep in mind though that alot of Topps and Pannini items I have to purchase do not sell. Such as Topps Opening Day. Because of my extra income from the apartments I rent out, I am able to sell for less than other dealers to my walk in customers. I also supply some cases to other card stores who are not able to buy from Topps direct. I do not sell on eBay and it is a first come first serve basis for my regular customers or walk in customers.
I am not sure what other sellers are selling their cases of 2010 Bowman Sterling for. I sold out at my cases at $950 by the second day I had received them and $100 per box. I do not buy more from any where else. After my stock is gone it is gone. I do not advertise I do not sell on eBay I just sell to my customer base which seems to be growing by word of mouth. Sorry I can not tell you what city my store is in, or any other info except that I am based in a large East Coast city. If you happen to be walking by an older looking card store that looks more like a Salvation Army swap shop in a busy city stop in. It just might be mine and I would be glad to welcome you!
I hope this helps you in your question about how much 2010 Bowman Sterling cases and boxes sold for when they came out from Topps. Remember though supply and demand dictates prices. So I'd imagine that after most have been opened and the big catch cards have not been pulled from a pack yet then that also drives up the prices as dealers see that certain cards can drive up the price of a box or case if a 1/1 is still out there and no one has pulled it.

Horseshit..lol

Boxes of 2010 Bowman Chrome at my cost was $22.50 per box.
All right smartallecks, how do you propose that a baseball card store can stay open besides mine paying the prices you are quoting leaving no room for product that is not sold and having to pay for it any way and keeping the high interest and selling items affordable to make a profit and stay in business with the costs of running and keeping a shop open?
I would love to hear your theories on this.

I buy for a brick and mortar and the direct from Topps price for 2010 Bowman Chrome was $51.66 per box.

EDIT: We've been in business for 30 years, FYI, and we've had a direct account with Topps for that long.

I doubt any dealer would want to post that info. If they did and it did not reflect the prices I pay then it is probably doctored.
Boy it sure got quiet when I mentioned how other shops could keep their doors open with all the rental costs and utility charges and buying costs and security costs and stolen merchandise. Not to mention the merchandise you can't sell that you throw in to a $5 bin for things like 1990 Score baseball boxes and such.
Made you think didnt I?
Believe me or do not. The truth is what I am writing on my side. Costs for dealers are a fraction of what other dealers would have you believe.
