Most Recent Custom: Rivalry Edition

So after having so much fun making my first custom card, I tried my hands at another. I didn't scan the back but it basically states a small blurb titled Rivalry Moments about the incident that occurred between Pedro Martinez and Don Zimmer during the 2003 ALDS. I feel that custom cards help me enjoy the hobby even more by allowing me to put my own ideas into making cards. The Pedro is from a 1991 UD card, which exemplifies his early autograph. The Don Zimmer was cut from a 1979, which ironically featured him as a Red Sox Coach. For some reason the scan cut off the top of the card, so the Don Zimmer font is all intact and not awkwardly cut. If you guys have an ideas for future "Rivalry Moments" dual autographs, let me know. I have not given too much thought to it yet, but may plan on making a small set of them for fun. The card did not scan as well as I would have liked, but I went and got it printed on card stock. With a decoy cutout to house the autographs in the middle with the top template and the back template glued on, it makes a very thick and sturdy card. Without further ado, here is the card:

First one I thought of too. Ventura/Ryan is good too, and the Rose/Fosse are my favorites listed.

You'd have to include Juan Marichal vs. John Roseboro (Dodgers vs. Giants, Aug. 22, 1965). Marichal attacked with a bat.

Those are all great examples that are definite possibilities. I'd love to do a piazza/clemens, but acquiring both of those autos could get a little pricey. I'll definitely keep you guys updated with the pair I choose next.

Farnsworth v Wilson was one of the all-time great fights IMO. I love seeing a batter charge the mound and then get their ass kicked.


I also loved seeing Rick Porcello take down Kevin "I'm a *****" Youkilis.

One of my favorite cards is this sketch I had done by a board member, although I'd love to get a fight dual autograph card for it like the ones above too. Pretty cool stuff if you ask me.
