While I voted for 2 of them, I would have to agree with TBP. You based this poll on your own feelings of these products. They did not generate hype because to you, they were not based on prospects or things you like about a product. In fact if I had the wide open choice, I'd have voted for Donruss as pure ugly design, and ANY prospect based set, yes Razor and all forms of Bowman included.

I am however still hyped over UD X, it's more of going back to basics of old card collecting, not promoted by 50 billion worthless gu cards nor the next high school/college aged kid who hasn't done crap yet on the MLB level. I do NOT prospect, never have and NEVER will. I could care less about any of those related products even though this board is pretty much a prospecting board so it's all around.

I think the poll should have had more options that were just products listed, not based on ones own opinion of how well something has done or at least an "Other" option to select. However, it was your poll so obviously, you are free to set it up however you wish. I'm just saying I would have done differently, that's all, nothing more.

I did not base this on my own feelings but rather from information I have been gathering over the past few months. Its very easy for someont to just hit "other" and I don't get a good idea of what collectors are thinking. Rather than posting about what they feel is a worthless product, they would just simply hit other, move on, and I would have no idea on how to gauge the information presented in the poll other than the fact that someone could have disliked Bowman Draft, Upper Deck Ultimate Collection, Topps Series 1, and not taken the time to post about it. I understand your stance though and I'll take that into consideration for the future.

Are the conclusion's going to be posted in some type of stickey(?) or is this for an FCB related survey? I'm just curious because I could fully understand not listing Razor (being that there are many whom do not like the product...& note: there are many on this board whom LOVE this product) as it could very easily win the poll & then how bad would that look with FCB being the Razor capital of our hobby & having to crown them "Most Useless Product of the Year"... :? (take note that I do not believe it deserves the "MUPOTY" award, but I do believe it should be an option if this has anything to do with an FCB related poll or information for our community; but if it's just a posts for giggle's & grin's then I really don't see the need to list it or the option "other"- although other really is beneficial for a poll!!!) :D

I know a lot of people don't like UD X, but from the 3 packs I opened, I thought it was kinda cool. It was almost like an attempt to throw in some old-style 90s insertish cards into a cheap affordable product for any collector. At 99 cents a pack, how can it be useless??? Even if you get nothing of any sell value at all, they are cool looking cards and you aren't taking a very big gamble paying a buck per pack.

I think you should add FCB Moderators as a choice. It would probally be a popular vote. Don't break rule #1. What the **** is the board turning into.

I'm not insulting anyone. The board ran fine before there were 27 MOD's and 116 rules.

Rules are necessary to move forward, I am sorry if you feel differently, but you need to realize rules are here to stay.

First Pitch and Opening Day. Basically just retreads of the base UD and Topps sets with all the same images on the cards. Nothing new or unique about them from what I can see. I could see all of the other sets listed having some fan base or some reason to buy.

I liked Ballpark from a player collector perspective because it made some really unique patches (laundry tags, buttons, logos) affordable.

Useless hard to define. Looks like some in the list actually made that posted 3X-5X their money so maybe including those on the list was a mistake. Since I didn't buy any of the above, I guess I shouldn't vote.

There is not even close to being 27 Mods. And the rules are minimal. Why complain? Nobody is forcing you to be here.

As for your comment about "what is this board turning into." The only thing i see wrong is the few that constantly complain about little things as well as seek out confrontation in certain topics. (And this is daily by certain members. You know who you are.)

I will be honest, i spent a lot of time on Beckett so ive seen a lot of posts by yourself as well as others there and i had as much respect for these people as you could have for someone on an internet message board. But i have to say since everyone moved here, these few people have really lost any respect i may have had for them. Take away a few rules and peoples true colors really come out.

Well said, I try not to comment in these types of situations but I think enough is enough. 99% of the folks on these boards are able to function with the few rules there are but for some reason we have a few folks who feel as if this should be a free for all. If thats what you're looking for, I'm sure there are boards that will satisfy that need for you, this isnt one of those boards. I've been to those those and honestly, the few folks who complain the most, would be at home there as every post is 3 words or less.

Most of the MOD's are great members and have been ever since beckett. I don't like the fact that we have to tip-toe around certain topics. Especially if a MOD starts the thread or has spoke his peace. Its like its your way or the highway. I've been told multiple times now that I can leave if I don't like it. Don't think that because regular members don't speakout that 99% of the agree with you.

Yes, I know, they elected you their spokesman. Its not a my way or the highway mentality its the fact that I guess mods cant support something without being accused of being given "gifts" for their opinions and garbage like that. The people who you and some others keep taking shots at have invested in making this place a success, so therefore, they can make the rules that they see fit. So far, there arent many rules and hopefully, if folks think about what they say and do, there wont be any more.

The bolded is where you are wrong. This site wouldn't be successful without the community as a whole. How interesting would the board be with just CGilmore and 10 Moderators? Its great what Chris has done here ,but don't make it sound like he's doing it for the love of the game. There are many members here that invest time and money into the site and don't have input on the rules/moderating. I for one do contest and promote the site to help the community grow and expect nothing in return. I seeing all the moderating/rules going against what this site was to stand for to begin with.

AKA, you have no clue what goes into keeping this site going. This is the last I am going to say to you, because clearly you only read what you want to read into everything I say.

To bring this back to topic, none of them are useless.

Each has their own niche. Not everyone has access to a card shop, not everyone has $1,000s of dollars to spend on boxes.

Well, after all of the great debating in these past 3 page's my choice has been made! But seriously, given the limited option's & it being 10 choice's that were decided by the OP, I will have to say that the most useless product of the year "from Blanning's list" is: UDX...
As for the heated "discussion" I think moderator's are great & needed for a community like this, but in a limited community such as this you're going to have hard feelings from member's aimed towards the mod's whom "came up" in the community with them & now are "moderating" them. Just my 2-cents, I personally don't give a rat's arse as I enjoy killing time here (if you guy's tell me "no-no" then it's your world, I'm just a visitor...this is a "free" site that offers its member's some great tool's that can be used at our disposal & I've enjoyed taking advatage of them- I'm just getting the hang of the "transaction board's" which are AWESOME).. Anyhow, you guy's seem to be moderating in moderation which is cool with me! :D

Thats a good point. I guess I just get tired of being attacked by the MOD MoB everytime I say something they don't completely agree or call them out on something. It can never just be a discussion. It has to turn into a "Feel free to leave" , "Nobody is forcing you to be here", or "Its the rules. Deal with it." thread. Who moderates the MOD's?

I can't really vote because I didn't buy any of the products.

I also would like to see some moderation with the moderators. Mods should post as normal members 90% of the time and save the regulator tone for the other 10%.
