Monday sized haul today...

Garvey Heritage Red /72. The scan makes it looked washed out, but it's crisp. View attachment 344108

TOTT /25. View attachment 344109

A pair of Duke's #'d each to 3. View attachment 344110View attachment 344111

Russell Martin. View attachment 344112

Eddys Leonard Minor League Heritage View attachment 344113

Culbertson IP/TTM. View attachment 344114

Russ Mitchell IP/TTM. View attachment 344115

Kahnle. TTM/IP. Some minor league sets really are pretty decent looking and sometimes feature some nice action shots that really make them stand out.View attachment 344116

This is one I'll feature here, as Lima was a Dodger briefly. Redeemed (the hole punch tells me this)redemption card that I can mate with the actual signature card, which I believe I already have. View attachment 344117

Took a while to get one at a decent price. They dried up, so this went for a little more than I wanted to pay in the beginning, but he died since then too! Sutton Heritage.jpg

Thanks.
I’m building a 74 Topps set and I also collect cards designed like the 74 set. (2020 Archives set). I’m considering collecting autographs from 74 Topps and cards designed like 74’s.

That is a 74 T Mota (buyback), stamped and signed. Archives Retired edition.

Today brings a new Garvey program. Seems he sponsored all kinds of events in the days (skiing, Racketball, Tennis, Golf...). It is signed inside by Garv, but wanted the program itself mostly. Garvey Program.jpg

Newest Garvey auto out there, this one is red/50. Might be the first fielding pose card (auto'd for Garvey) that I recall seeing. He did win a few Gold Gloves too.s-l1600.jpg

I am coming up on 3 years or recording my Dodger additions. Crazy and both a fun trip down memory lane and a reminder that I buy too much stuff too.

I have to decide if i want to keep this bus moving forward into 2023.

Thanks and I enjoy your Bucs thread and others like it. I just never know how many people do. Maybe 5-7 of us really like these types of threads and nobody else cares???

Today brings. Garvey 6/10. I managed to get this with a BO, so surprised there. s-l1600-6.jpg

Marinan. Never heard of the guy, but he's in a Dodger uniform and it was a buck. No brainer combo there! Marinan.jpg

This trio of buyback Dodgers. Fleer did a huge buyback, but frankly, the documentation and execution was rather poor. Two of these cards have a Fleer logo embossed stamp (EWills does not), so makes me feel a little better, but then again Fleer went belly up and there was probably all kinds of weird crap happening at that time. I am not convinced a stamping machine didn't make it into the public's hands!

The se;;er has been selling a lot of this era Fleer autos. Maybe they are on consignment. Maybe the seller was a huge fan and bought a ton of stuff. Maybe it's not something I want to acknowledge and is nefarious...I hope it is 1 or 2.

Garvey /25.

t might be close to a Garvey certified autograph card count again. I did one several years back and held a contest to see who could come closest to the total, but the collection continues to grow. I have way more Steve Garvey autographed cards than any one person should own, yet I keep buying more.

From the COMC haul!

OK, I forgot to sort the non-Autos before pictures, so the rest will all be in the December pick up thread. Not a lot of Dodgers that were not autos anyway.

My favorite is the Willie Davis Sweet Spot. I guess I had never noticed or seen the card before. Willie has a few certified autos and I have a couple already, but this was too cool to pass up. It was a bit more than I wanted to spend, but it's only money! Some other cool items as well. The 3X Auto cards are always fun, one is 15/ and the other /20. Duke, Yeager and Lopes are /25 and the Oliver is /10.

DOD 1.jpg
Less exciting 2nd batch, just cheap Dodger autos.
DOD 2.jpg

This one features a Garvey and a Sutton /10, but neither are pictured as a Dodger. Garv.jpg

A few goodies with some Dodger content, base or GU. BB2.jpg

I splurged over the weekend, finally nabbing a white whale of sorts. I hope to have it soon and will show here when it arrives. Until then, you'll have to be as excited as I am to get it, to hear who it is.

Now, this is what actually showed up today. I remember this guy was white hot and I tried desperately to nab one as some copies (/10 and /25 mostly) were 3 and 4 digit prices! I landed this /99 for about $25. It goes nicely wqith my base and /25. Still a lot for a player of his credentials, who has retired and will never get any more popular than he was in his early years, but I do like that design and wouldn't mind eventually getting them all if the holders ever decide to cut bait. They won't get any more popular or expensive, unless he dies a young and tragic death, so sell them to me now! Still need 1/1, /5 & /10. I don't expect to see/own the first 2 and probably not even the last one. I think those were trading for $500 and more at the time. Anyone plunking down $500-1000 for this card is not going to want to sell it for $50, about all its worth these days.

Jose Ramos Minors Heritage. I like that many of the players have great, 73-like action photos for their cards. s-l1600-3.jpg

This is being described as a "case hit". Seems underwhelming for a case hit to be /100, but what do I know about new packs?s-l1600.jpg

I would have loved to get this cheaper, but went after it because it's a great pairing. I was surprised nobody else bid, which made me happy. It was a high open bid price though. Garvey/Baker /10. s-l1600-2.jpg

Valdez. I think this is the first time I have seen a Dodger auto for him. W Valdez TTM.jpg

Mondesi on a Fleer Update card. mONDESI TTM.jpg

This qualifies, as Ron started his career in LA and this is one of the coveted Archives /25 I like to collect each year. s-l1600-3.jpg

Another Banty. I do like these a lot, when I can score a bargain. They seem to be gaining in popularity and prices realized. I know they are a labor of love, and think I recall reading about the creator describing the lengthy process involved in making them, but he is also selling 100s of them and many are breaking the $100 range too. Good for him! s-l1600-4.jpg

A paid of /25 Garveys. s-l1600-5.jpgs-l1600-2.jpg

Beltre Archives s-l1600.jpg

Buehler. s-l1600-1.jpg

De Jesus. First of a line of new Dodger Bowman rookies that all seem to be grossly overpriced once again. I finally found one under $10. When will people learn? Not every rookie is going to succeed, yet they seem to pay for them like they will! A year from now I will probably cringe that I even paid that much for one, but have to try to keep up with them or pay dearly or miss the new real stars.s-l1600-3.jpg
