I really don't know anything about AFLAC cards...now that I own one, what are they?

I am guessing AFLAC (same company as the goose commercials) sponsors the teams? What else is there to know?

Each year, AFLAC sponsors the AFLAC All-American game..it's for the best high school players in the country. There, these sets are handed out, all un-autoed. Topps buys 'em back and gets 'em autoed and inserts 'em into Draft. That's why they're AFLAC buybacks. Hope this helps.

^Thanks

Are aflacs usually more or less desirable than rookies..it seems they sell for higher than most of the rookies but the more rare colored refractors? That sound about right? I like having a variety of cards, so I thought it round things out a bit more than already.

Same AFLAC

Distributed during the aflac high school all American game at the stadium. 500 or so produced. Some were bought back by Topps and inserted in to BCDP. That was in 2008 BCDP

Since they are buybacks..how do you know if they are legit autos or not? are they stamped on back or??

they have the "3m" sticker on the back. that being said, there are probably some fake ones out there. in 2009, they started serial numbering them, which cut off the counterfiters

He is wrong, players get about 250 copies 250 are given away and 250 are signed at the game.

Mike,

One of these summers, we'll have to get you to the game. When do you ever get the chance to sit in the best seats at Petco Park for only 5 bucks?! It's more fun than Padres games and you'll also learn more about these cards.

Topps now does signing sessions a day or two before the game for future insertion in packs. I believe it's the day right after the cards are produced. Many of the players are more than happy to sign before the game as well. Therefore, these cards are not repurchased by Topps.

By all means, let me know next time they have these games?!

BTW, i thought the best seats in the house were $5...the "in the park seats"...those are where we usually sit for padre games.

There will definitely be posts here when tickets go on sale. I take it the "in the park seats" is the grassy area way in the back behind the sandbox seats. I'd say only half the first deck behind home plate gets filled for these games and no one has to sit in the middle or upper deck.
