Congrats. Mine was a batting glove card of Ivan Rodriguez from 2001 Upper Deck Mvp. I was a very happy 15 year old at the time.

Sent from my SPH-M820-BST using Sports Cards by Freedom Card Board.com

Similarly, this was my first relic, though a catchers glove, not batting glove. Love the swatch, can't get rid of it.

nice job, you always remember your first. I pulled a Gabe Kapler from a pack in 98, of course they were a lot rarer than they were now. Congrats!

those game used baseballs were the rage back in the day. I remember pulling the McGwire, a 500.00+ card back in 99.

I lost my R card in 2002, bought a random blaster box of upper deck and pulled a chipper jones gu jersey.

I still didn't get back into the hobby until 2006 so I was kind of confused as to what the card even was at the time.

First game used card was a 1998 Upper Deck Ben Grieve jersey card... pulled back when game used cards were actually hard to pull (I think 1:156 packs for that particular card?). I recall it booked at $150 at one point. Now you can probably get it off of eBay for $5. How disappointing it is to see the market flooded with these types of cards.

I can't recall who my first autographed card was... I think it was out of 1997 Donruss Signature, maybe Antoine Williamson or someone like that. I have a 1996 Leaf Signature Rusty Greer but I think I bought that indpendently of a pack.

Congrats. You never forget your first one!

Here is mine. I remember looking at it in awe as I did not even know it would be in the box - and Bonds was a pretty star at the time (2002). I don't recall them being "guaranteed" like they are now in sealed boxes. I was thrilled then and am happy for you today.

My first GU was a 2000 Upper Deck Game Ball Andruw Jones:

At the time it booked for $60, so we're talking huge big deal. Now, there's one on COMC for $2.50 ($1.63 after the sellers 35% A-A).

My first pack-pulled autos were from 1994 Signature Rookies. Only one I specifically remember was Paul Spoljaric, but I ended up with a few of them. I was enrolled in some kind of mail-order card club that gave me discounts on Signature Rookies products, and occasional "mystery boxes" full of Front Row mini-sets, oddball "promo" cards, and other junk that was cool for a 14 year old kid to have.

My first relic was a 2001 Pacific Private Stock Alex Gonzalez Jersey Card with teal pinstripe. It was pretty exciting even though each pack guaranteed a jersey. The first relic I pulled from a pack was a JD Drew bat card from Topps Fusion (2001?). First auto was Jose Vidro from 1999 UD MVP.
