Need some advice on a legal issue regarding scams paypal etc

Ok, since there are son many intrested parties, I will disclose what happened on my end of this situation. Carlcardtrader came on and made a thread stating that he needed paypal and was selling some prospects. He stated that he had three Lars Anderson chrome autos and he needed 140 dlvd on them. I told him I would take them for that price and sent him paypal the next day. He stated that he would send the DC when he sent out the cards. A week later, no response on FCB to pm's and still no DC number. Started asking around, and found out that he was doing the same to other members on the site. We contacted a mod and later on that day carlcardtrader came on and responded to my pm and said he had been really busy and would send out in a couple of days. I opened up a claim on paypal anyways. So fast foward to today, and still no cards and now my paypal claim came and went(I won, but he has no money in is account, funny). So now we have no way of getting our money back or receiving our end. Sry for the long read.

Guys, is it really necessary to ask him to give you his info if you were not involved with the guy? This thread was the OP asking for info on what he should do. He was NOT creating a thread for the purpose of warning others.
Just my .02.

If their is a problem, then yes. Many of the members asking are staff. Those that are not feel the need to get info. That said if the OP is not telling the truth then a new topic will be started stating so and the OP will be removed. If he is telling the truth, the bad member should be mentioned to forewarn others on and off the site.

doesn't paypal do chargebacks or something

Mines equally depressing. Should have known a quick acceptance of a below ebay 210 paypal for 2 Stanton Blues was fishy.

So back to the original topic, how do we go about contacting the police and filing a complaint? This has to be computer fraud right?

Seriously I appreciate the offer, but since your not involved, I want us to file all the paperwork and such. Just need some help on how to actually do it.

well if it ends up adding up to a very large amount there is definetly something you can do about it, especially if you have all of his contact info

first of all, this is the first thing I would try

anyone involved or anyone on the site have peoplesearch account?
if so get his phone number and try contacting the guy

if that fails it is time to put this bastard away

Sorry, I don't just want to give out his phone number to people who are not involved. It isn't necessary in my opinion. Plus, how is that going to help when phillyfan has called numerous times?
