So I bought a vintage card from a seller who was very descriptive about rounding of corners, paper loss, writing, ect. But didn't mention the 3 creases. I got a good deal on it, so I left positive feedback, but gave him a lower than 5 on "item as described".

So the next day he sent me a nasty email complaining about how I just cost him money because he won't get as big of a discount for being a power seller. After a few emails, he sent me one saying that my points would be valid if I had paid more for the card, but because I didn't pay that much, it wasn't that big of a deal. While we were "chatting", he went and commented on the feedback I left for him and the positive feedback he left for me. Saying, "SELLERS BLOCK this BIDDER!! BUYER INGRATE!! KILLS DSRs! BLOCK BLOCK".

I didn't feel this was fair, because I graded him as eBay says I should. So I contacted eBay. They removed his comment from my feedback page because it was considered feedback abuse because his comment contradicted his feedback.

He then contacted me with this statement:

You are WITHOUT QUESTION, the most fundamentally comptemptible "thing" I have ever encountered in my 11 years on EBAY. You win a card for 99 cents thats worth WAAAY more than that. Totally disregard my request to not leave feedback if not completely happy. You KILL my DSR and cost me more than $15 in a discount on my FINAL VALUE fees and then follow up with a report to Ebay about my follow-up. What else do you want do? Kill my dog? Smug, smarmy sanctimonious. Just a few adjectives that come to mind. I would spew forth an unending stream of obscenities directed you and your family but know you're a litte tattle tale so won't risk further admonishment from Ebay. Will have to bide my time and think long and hard how I hope to make this situation even. But know this, I will.

Not really looking for any comments, if you would like to, feel free. I just needed to get this off my chest, and the last time I tried talking to my wife about something like this, I got a blank stare. End of rant, and yes I expect to be blasted by some certain members for this post, thank you.

I think you both went a bit too far. The picture clearly showed the creases, and you did get a steal. Should have just let him off without feedback as he asked, but what's done is done.

It's buyers like you that everyone is always complaining about that is making eBay selling tiresome. I remember the thread you made about this, and you were COMPLETELY in the wrong to mess with this guy's DSRs. He definitely handled it wrong, but you shouldn't be buying on eBay if you are so easily unsatisfied.

It doesn't matter what kind of steal I got on the card. It doesn't matter what the picture showed. You are suppose to be basing your buying options off of the description, that is why eBay/Paypal have a "not as described" for dispute. They don't have a "not as pictured". Why wouldn't I leave feedback?

It has nothing to do with being easily unsatisfied or wanting to mess with the guys DSRs. It has to do with the item not being as described in the auction. And if he can't handle this as a seller who sells a lot of cards, he should sell elsewhere.

Whatever... you think you are right, so it's not worth arguing. I just hope you never buy from me.

As people do in discussions, it is kind of stupid to be arguing your side of a discussion if you think you are wrong. That would be counterproductive. But feel free to block me, you can click on the little eBay auction link to the left to get my eBay name.

I say you avoid all this stuff if you describe the item to the T. He didn't, so I don't think it is completely unfair to speak the truth in the DSR's. I understand that the creases were visiable so I probably would have stayed away from the card in the first place, but thats just me. It was pretty cheap though, so It shouldn't be that big of a deal. Although I guess the principle of the fact does make it somewhat of a big deal.

I think people here are overreacting because there would be no problem if the item was as described. So I hope not to buy from those who posted they wouldn't want to sell to you. In this situation it just comes off as those members having something to hide. Just my observation

The fact that you went through the effort speaks volumes. Did you know that you could cost him money? If you weren't aware of the policy that's one thing...but if you knew that it could possible lower his rating than shame on you.

You paid less than a dollar and felt the need to admonish this guy. I don't know how old you are...I am guessing under 17, but karma will come back to you.

Just my thoughts

Losers... nice. So someone is selling a card that is ripped in half and is pictured as such, you think it is within reason to leave a low DSR if the seller didn't mention in the description that the card is ripped in half? A-FRACKING-MAZING!!! But seriously, what seller wants to be at the mercy of HYPER nit-picky individuals that can cost you money because they have a hard time comprehending reality or eBay common sense... not I.
