Excuse me... prismatic?

I'm not particularly good at science, but does 'genetic matrix' signify anything other than 2 cool words put together? Or is it like a pun on genetic makeup? I've heard of gene sequences, and cellular/extra-cellular matrices, but not a genetic matrix.

It is fancy-looking. I'm always in favor of new ways to make cards look fancy.

These look nice, wish they were licensed to use team names/logos.

It appears to be that the etching is colored.

So the etching, which has been on Topps Refractor cards as far back as... 93? I know it as on 95 Bowman's Best... In any event... the groundbreaking technology was to, 20 years later, color in the etching?

Wow.

The first thing I thought of was the TVs that came out with colored ambient light. That's the comparison I made.

First thought, it doesn't feel groundbreaking. Second thought, but they do look nice. I like the Genetic Matrix ones better than the etched basketball ones. Looking forward to busting the basketball product. Busting Leaf has been a winning formula for me (as long as it isn't a repack...those ones kill me) so I'm going to keep rolling with it.

Call me crazy, but when I see a football or baseball card, I typically like to see a ballpark or batting cage or something sports-y as a background.

I'm not calling you crazy, but TONS of cards have no/little background behind a player nowadays.

Probably not a bad idea for a future release...

Jeff,
I am sure you are a good lawyer, but clearly you know nothing about card manufacturing.
This technology has been impossible until now... It is going to change the way Metal/Chrome/Prizm (pick your word) look...
I have never made cards as visually popping as these cards are... and these are just photos (and we know Metal doesnt show off its best in photos/scans).
